Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
This was delicious. I followed the recipe exactly. I took a tip from one of the reviewers to poke holes in it before adding the glaze. I will make this again with the addition of poppy seeds next time. Yum!

Delicious and Easy Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
This was too overdone for me. There is a similar recipe on here that only cooks for 10 mins that turned out more to our liking.

Haddock Marinara

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2014
Delicious, quick, and easy! Used flounder. And added chopped kale. Left out the onions ad garlic because I had a nice spicy marinara sauce. Left out the extra tomatoes because I was out. Used less sauce as suggested. Served with buttered angel hair.

Ham and Shell Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
This was a nice base. I didn't have any peas so I used green onions for color and added chopped hard boiled egg.I didn't measure any ingredients but I know I used a ton more mayo than called for.

Hamburger Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
I really enjoyed this. It was different from any other soup I have made before. Very hearty. 1 small bowl filled me up. Used cut up leftover steak instead of hamburger because I had it on hand. I added noodles but I think it would have been better without them. The only thing I might add next time would be some cabbage.

Spicy Shrimp and Tomato Scampi

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
Excellent. A perfect weeknight meal when you are low on groceries. I had some fresh basil so added that in addition to the parsley. I also used half butter and olive oil because I like the flavor of the two together. If you like this try the Pasta with Tuna Sauce recipe also on this site. Both are quite good.

Rhubarb Custard Pie V

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I have been meaning to make this for over 2 years and am so glad I finally did. This was extremely easy and delicious. I used a premade graham cracker crust and it worked great. I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top of the filling before baking it. I will definitely make this again!

Macaroni and Cheese with Ground Beef, Salsa and Green Chiles

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
I used a box of mac and cheese and added some shredded cheese to make it creamier. Also added some sweet bell peppers, fresh garlic, and a can of hominy because I had them on hand. The BF really liked this and it was super easy so I would make it again. If you use a box of mac and cheese this only feeds 3 or 4. We barely had leftovers but I didn't fix any sides. I prefer the cajun macaroni recipe from this site.

Easy Chicken Parmesan

I cut the chicken into smaller pieces so it would be cooked through. I also added some fresh basil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper. Served with a green salad and angel hair pasta. Will definitely make this again. So easy!

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
Great recipe and very easy. I was pressed for prep time so I cheated and used a bottled sauce. I will make again and try the recipe for the sauce as I am sure it is delicious. Served with sausage and sauerkraut in the slow cooker, succotash, mashed potatoes, and a green salad for a Labor Day BBQ.

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
Delicious. Used beef smoked sausages sliced on the bias. Only change I made was to rinse off the sauerkraut first. So easy. Served as a side for Labor Day BBQ with grilled ribs, mashed potatoes, succotash and a salad. Will make again!

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
Mixed reviews here. Boyfriend liked it. I wasn't a fan. I added red wine, crushed red pepper, and balsamic vinegar for more flavor as suggested by reviewers. The flavors of the stuffing mix didn't blend well with the canned tomatoes. To me it almost tasted like they were just heated up and thrown together. I am glad I tried it since the BF liked it. I won't be making this again. I wonder if fresh diced tomatoes with chicken broth would improve this dish.

Beef Taco Bake

Simple, easy, inexpensive, and tasty. I added garlic, onion, red bell pepper, taco seasoning, and some hot sauce to the meat. Then added sliced black olives on top of the cheese. Was requested to make it again. Served with a green salad. Next time will use half the meat and add some beans.

Pork Chops Paprikash

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
I thought this was very good. I had a can of tomato soup that I wanted to use up so it was perfect for that. The chops were very juicy. Some of the reviewers said it was bland so I seasoned the chops first with seasoned salt and subbed white wine for the water. I added sliced mushrooms, green pepper, and garlic when I was cooking the onions. I used a very high quality Hungarian sharp paprika. This made all the difference. It adds a nice kick to any dish that calls for paprika. I served this with steamed broccoli and cauliflower for an easy weeknight meal. I would make this again. The boyfriend LOVED it.

Mushroom Swiss Burger

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
I subbed 1 can of shrooms and used ground turkey instead of beef and they were still fabulous. The mushrooms gave the burgers a very rich flavor. Will definitely make them again. Great with dijon mustard and sliced red onion. Served with grilled veggies and pasta salad.

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
Very good! I used broccoli stalks shredded in the food processor instead of the green cabbage. I also used half fresh basil and cilantro and subbed out half of the veg oil for sesame oil. I have made many variations of asian coleslaw but this was the first one with peanut butter. I liked it a lot. Some toasted sesame seeds would be a great addition. Served as a side for Asian Spicy Tuna Salad sandwiches also from this site.
