Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
I only gave them a 4 because I think it is a great base recipe for buns. I seasoned mine up a bit because I can't just have a plane jane bread. I added garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning. You could easily make these into onion or cheese buns !

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I used this recipe as a base to make blueberry flax muffins. I used the recipe as is (minus the topping) and used 1/2 cup of milled flax in place of 1/2 cup of the flour. To keep it moist I added 1/4 cup of vanilla yogurt. They were WONDERFUL!

Vegetarian Refried Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
Good minus the tomato. I like to make these using left over pinto bean soup. I am NOT a veggie only type person so I make my soup with pinto beans, ham, and seasoning salt in the crockpot.

Homemade Apple Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
Thank you for having a GENUINE apple cider recipe as apposed to all of the so-called recipes that call for apple cider as an ingredient to "MAKE" apple cider. I am applaud that allrecipes has published soo many fraudulent "recipes" yet I have a very unique family candy recipe they have yet to to even review (after 4 years!).

Alfredo Sauce

The people poo pooing this recipe are obviously using poor quality ingredients. Stop whining if you are using crappy ingredients you will get a crappy sauce! It is no different then chocolate!

Tortillas II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
These are wonderful! I will leave out the baking powder next time as it is completely unnecessary. I added tomato and basil to mine. I might add a little wheat flour to them next time. I made spur of the moment burritos for my husband. I will be making this again!

Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This is a wonderful base recipe! I love how it uses the coffee to give the chocolate a fuller rich flavor. (I often do that is my chocolate dishes even if the recipe does not call for it! ) For those of you that prefer a sweeter mousse try using the chocolate cream pudding recipe from this site and whip it together with homemade whipped cream (add a little cooled coffee to the cream when you whip it for a richer flavor).

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2010
I am giving this only 4 stars because I like my lemon cake to actually be lemon cake. I added a package of prepared lemon pudding to the batter of mine along with a little lemon juice. The only other change I made was the addition of whipped cream mixed with a little of the lemon curd to add a border. It came out perfect!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
I used this recipe to make my wedding cake! I LOVE this recipe! I use strong fresh brewed coffee in place of the hot water to give it a fuller flavor. I also add a 1/4 cup more cocoa mixed with oil until it makes the consistency of melted chocolate this gives it not only more of a chocolaty taste but also adds to the moisture of the cake.

Biscuit Baking Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
This is not the recipe I normally use but it is a good one! I only gave it 4 stars because I didn't care for the sugar in it. To those commenting on "directions" for using the mix I think they need to go back to the basics of cooking before making their own (or just BUY a box at the store since they don't know how to use it...).

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Holy cow these are AMAZING! I woke up this Christmas morning thinking I MUST make something special for breakfast! These were hands down the perfect something special! I admit since I have no bread machine I always have an automatic alteration for most bread type recipes so I did these refrigerator style. I also since it was spur of the moment did not have any cream cheese so I used sour cream instead. I also added a few chopped walnuts to some of them. VERY YUMMY! I will make these again and again!

My boyfriend wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting so I had to find the perfect recipe! I am very pleased with this recipe and will use it from now on when I need a yellow cake! I scaled the recipe to 4 servings and baked it in a small cake pan. It was perfect for 2 people to have a couple of servings !

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
I LOVE this recipe! I added some crushed rosemary to mine. I also added melted butter to the egg wash instead of water. To those that are hand kneading the bread just use a little olive oil on your hands instead of adding more flour. And please for the love of bread use BREAD FLOUR lol! A++ recipe !
