Came from a family of Foodies. Almost everyone (men included) loves to cook in my family. Mom was French Canadian and a very good cook. Dad was a master of "everything but the kitchen sink" spicy soups.
My favorite things to cook
Prefer savory to sweet, so do not do much baking. Love to try International dishes, especially one-pot meals. Trying to learn more about Asian cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
"Reveillon", a French Christmas Eve feast following attendance at midnight Mass was a treat we all looked forward to. Absolutely everything on the table was made from scratch and there were always several delicious Tourtieres, ham, chocolate covered cream puffs and on and on.
My cooking triumphs
Beef stew with root vegetables
Strawberry Pavlova
Prime rib roast with Yorkshire pudding
Gravy started with a roux.
My cooking tragedies
Can't master the art of pie-crust making. It's always crisp like a cracker instead of light and flaky.
