A MOM OF 4 SONS.3 OF THEM MARRIED AND FAMILIES OF THIER OWN AND STILL HAVE THE 11 YR OLD HERE. THEY ALL LOVE TO EAT AND ARE VERY HEALTHY SO I GUESS MY COOKING HAS BEEN PRETTY GOOD. GRANDKIDS LOVE GRANDMAS TREATS AND COOKING TOO.
My favorite things to cook
CASSEROLES...I LOVE ONE POT MEALS AND SLOW COOKER COOKING. STIR FRYS...BUT MY FAVORITE THINGS TO COOK ARE MY CHICKEN HARD SHELL TACOS MY MEXICAN PORK AND CHILE STEW WITH REFRIED BEANS AND RICE ON THE SIDE,AND OF COURSE YOU CANT EAT THIS WITH OUT A FRESH TORTILLA.

I COOK EVERYDAY BUT EASTER AND THANKSGIVING ARE A MUST IN MY HOME. WE HAVE CERTAIN COMFORT FOODS ON THESE HOLIDAYS THAT WE JUST HAVE TO HAVE EVERY YEAR.

My cooking tragedies
MY FIRST THANKSGIVING DINNER WAS A ROASTING CHICKEN WE HAD INVITED PEOPLE OVER AND IT WAS STILL RAW WHEN I SERVED IT!!!I THREW IT OUT! MY FUDGE IT NEVER COMES OUT. ALWAYS TOO SOFT.

Old Fashioned Hard Candy
Taste wise this is the best! I made candy for the first time tonight....I only came into 1 problem...All thw powder sugar stuck to the candy and is really white on most of it! Is this normal? But other than that my house smell's GREAT and the CANDY IS GREAT! OPINONS PLEASE ON WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE POWDERED SUGAR....Vicki

Caldo de Res (Mexican Beef Soup)
MY HUSBAND LOVES THIS RECIPE...BUT HE EATS IT WITH A FRESH JALAPENO DICED FINE TO ADD IN TO YOUR BOWL AT SERVING TIME AND A SQUIRT OF LIME IN THE BROTH! ALSO WE USE TOMATO SAUCE OR FRESH TOMATOES IN IT THIS DEPENDS ON THE SEASONS...WE DONT USE THE PICKLED JALAPENOS,AND WE ADD THE FRESH CILANTRO INTO THE SOUP AND THE END OF COOKING WHILE HEATING UP THE CORN TORTILLAS!BUT I NEED TO SAY THAT A SPRINKLE OF SALT AND A SQUEEZE OF LIME ON YOUR TORTILLA BEFORE YOU ROLL IT UP GIVES IT THAT ULTIMATE TASTE OF MEXICO!!!

Mexican Casserole
BUT PLEASE ADD TOMATILLO SALSA INSTEAD OF THE CANNED CHILIS! IT HAS A DEEPER TASTE WITHIN THE CASSEROLE! USE EITHER MILD OR HOT TO YOUR PREFERENCE...WE USED HOMEMADE! EXCELLANT!
