I just made this and it was wonderful -- and so easy! I used a bunch of romas and 4 vine-ripes that on-hand. I didn't use cloves, instead I used 1 1/2 tsp of crushed garlic. Also used half an onion cut into slices. I don't have a food mill, so blended everything in my blender along with about 6 large fresh basil leaves. I also eliminated the sugar, but added a couple pinches of kosher salt at the end. I wish I'd made a double-batch. It didn't make as much as I thought it would. Next time I'm going to add some cilantro when I blend. A keeper!
