Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
This is a really great recipe. I was really looking forward to eating it and now I'm really looking forward to eating it AGAIN. My family loved it too, even the super picky 8yr old.

Italian Amaretto Margaritas

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I recently had an Italian Margarita at Olive Garden and I came home with a huge craving for more. This recipe made me so excited. Not exactly the same but JUST AS GOOD. Thank you!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
I made this to go alongside fajitas and WOW it's so yummy. I could eat this rice along with some refried beans and cheese on a tortilla without even adding the beef. LOVE IT. Definitely a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
My family LOVED this recipe for chicken and dumplings. I was however surprised at the lack of seasonings in the original recipe. I added a good shake of salt and pepper. Seasoned salt, garlic powder and a tad of thyme. I also rolled the biscuits out and cut them into strips with my pizza cutter. I used one can of cream of chicken and a can of chicken broth. YUMMMMO. This will definitely be added to our rotation. I also love that it's done in the slow cooker. (LESS WORK FOR MOM!)

This got rave reviews from my family. My daughter says that I need to make it once a week. =) I will definitely be making this again. Maybe not once a week.... but often!!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
This will be my recipe for rice pudding forever. YUMMMMO. I added some cinnamon sugar at the end and I don't think I will do that next time, but still the texture is perfect. Delicious.

Ground Beef and Sausage in Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
The rice amount seems WAY off to me. But besides that I really did not like this. All I could taste was beans and it was really bland. This makes a HUGE amount of food that I feel was completely wasted. So disappointed.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Wow.. These pork chops are yummo! I didn't have breadcrumbs so I just stopped with the flour and I didn't have to cook mine but 45 minutes the first time and 20 minutes the second time. But holy mackerel I will be making these over and over again. These along with the sage pork chops from this site are my go to pork recipes from now on.

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I have made this recipe a couple of times and I never have any leftovers to bring home. (too bad!) The only thing that I would suggest is to layer part of the icing in the middle. I found that all of that icing on top is a bit rich for us.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
Yummo! I could not stop eating these potatoes. The lemon juice and parmesan cheese is key! I made these along with the sage pork chops (awesome!) from this same site and my family was in dinner heaven. The only thing that I have to add is that I put them under the broiler for an additional 5 minutes right at the end to crisp them up a tad. Mine were steamed and well cooked but the broiler made them PERFECT.

Delmonico Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
We liked these potatoes. I only had 8oz sour cream and quite a bit less cheese than the recipe called for. I'm glad that I left that extra cheese out. I don't think these potatoes need it. Next time I will add more onion too. Great starter recipe!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Update: I made these yummo chops again tonight and I substituted a little bit. The first time I made them strictly by the recipe but I didn't have sage this time. I used some season salt, onion powder, garlic powder and S&P. Same cooking method and we were not disappointed. (last review)O.M.G. I made these EXACTLY as written. The best pork chops that I've ever had. I'm not a huge pork fan but I've been forced to find new recipes because my husband bought about 40 lbs of pork. I will make these over and over again.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This was ok for me. I liked it alot but I didn't stand up and clap about it. It's definitely NOT fajita meat but it could be good in a wrap of some sort.

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I didn't care for the cream cheese in this. *New comment* I hate giving bad reviews on obviously popular recipes so I went back and baked this again using the other members tips. I used my food processor to crumble together the cake mix and cream cheese and pouring the butter (melted) over the top. I still found this too gummy for my taste. If you like a crispy crusted cobbler this is NOT for you. IMO this is a dump cake, not a cobbler.

My family has been eating a different version of this dish for years. I'm happy to replace that old recipe with this new one. My kids loved the ranch in this. (of course)

Flatlander Chili

I LOVE this recipe. I made it for dinner tonight and the only thing that I did different was to use course ground chili meat and wow it really is the perfect pot of chili. Thanks George! This is a definite keeper.

Pork Medallions with Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
My family did not like this pork dish at all. The sauce had a "pasty" taste that I just did not care for. The mustard flavor was overwhelming with no other flavors to balance it out.

Chicken Lo Mein

My family really enjoyed this recipe. We used spaghetti instead of linguine but other than that I thought it was a solid "starter" recipe. Great flavor.
