German Zwiebelkuchen (Onion Pie)

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This was amazing! The changes I made were minor in that it was only going to be me eating it. So I used less onions 5 large videlia(sp?) onions, 1/2 lb bacon, 1/2 sour cream and put it in a deep dish pie (with piecrust). I didn't have any caraway seeds, but it was outstanding w/o it. I did add a dash of cardamon and nutmeg. Amazing dish will make again!

I made these and to me they lacked flavor - I added a pinch of cinnamon and a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar and they were excellent

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
This recipe is amazing. The longer it sits the more the spices set in. We like it spicy so I did not alter the recipe except to add more spice (like cloves & ginger)... Yummy!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
This recipe was fantastic as is. My only change was I added a few tablespoons of all natural maple syrup - only because I ran short on honey. When baked it doesn't crumble and I have added this to my recipe box! Thank you for a great recipe!

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Like others, I had to alter this recipe because it was too dry to stir. I added 1 C brown sugar and 1 Cup white sugar. I then had to add 1/2 cup of apple cider and 1/4 cup of orange juice. I also kicked up the spices by adding 1 teaspoon nutmeg, 1.2 t cloves and 1 t of ginger in addition to the cinnamon. The result was fantastic! I gave this 3 stars for the basic recipe b/c I try to make the recipe as posted....

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Amazing and delicious! We don't use nuts so I subsitituted 1/2 cup of flour for them. I also mixed 1/2 of the amount of blueberries (rolled in flour) and lightly pressed the remaining half on the top of the batter before baking. A perfect recipe!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

This recipe was outstanding! I couldn't keep any for Christmas! I used unsalted butter instead of shortening and cut back a little on the cloves - (this is my preference) - otherwise this recipe uis a keeper!

Kerry's Beany Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
I have made this dish for a Church picnic and for a neighborhood party and it is always the first to be eaten. I added cumin instead of chili powder and used ground ancho and chipolte chile pepper in place of the red pepper flakes. I also made the dressing the night before and didn't add it until about an hour before serving. Yummy!
