Irish Cream Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly, and although time consuming, it was very easy to make. I didn't have Irish Cream on hand so I made it without and it was wonderful.

Apple Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
The only suggestion I have is to use about a cup more of apple cider. Also reserve 1/4 cup and mix with 1t. cornstarch to thicken up the stew a few minutes before serving. No problem with the flavor, this was very tasty and hearty.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
These muffins were very moist and full of flavor, my family really enjoyed them. I think next time I will substitute 1/2 the butter with applesauce and see how they turn out.

Allana's Excellent Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
We liked this very much. I added a little cheddar cheese 'cuz for me potato soup just isn't the same without it. Don't leave out the mustard, it really adds a nice flavor.

Sugared Rhubarb Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These muffins were fantastic; flavorful, moist, and almost too pretty to eat. The only change I made was to add a 1/2 t. vanilla, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I'm going to try other mix ins like berries or chocolate chips instead of rhubarb. This recipe is a keeper.

Biscuits With Deer Maple Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
I was out of venison steak so I opted for burger instead. Because the consistency reminded me of traditional bisquits and gravy I added 1 tsp, maybe a little more, of poultry seasoning(to give it the sausage flavor) and a little cayenne pepper. It was delicious. I was reluctant to add the maple syrup at first but it added such a nice flavor. Thanks for the new addition to my recipe box and another way to cook the deer in the freezer.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
Not only did this make wonderful eggnog it made delicious ice cream too. Just out of curiosity I put the leftover eggnog in my ice cream freezer and it turned out great. I did leave out the rum and add a small amount of rum extract instead.

Corn Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
What a great soup for a chilly November day. I took the advice of others and put in some sliced potatoes, crumbled bacon, and cheddar cheese instead of processed. Delicious! I will be making this again very soon.

Cinnamon Snack Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
My only complaint was the teddy grahams got really soft and broke apart after I took the mix out of the oven. Next time I'll add them after baking. I skipped the ramen noodles only because the idea kinda scared me but maybe next time I'll be braver.

Apple Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
I would suggest using a greased pan instead of paper muffin cups. Even after these cooled most of the muffin was stuck to the paper. They were very tasty though, would make them again.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was delicious. I used beer brats instead and took the suggestion for adding brown sugar and mustard. Perfect with mashed potatoes.

My family liked this one, even my 9 year old who doesn't like much. It was perfect for a chilly day. Great comfort food.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This was very tasty but I wasn't crazy about the dumplings. I thought they were a little on the heavy side. I would make this again but use Bisquick dumplings instead.

Egg Drop Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was so easy and good, just like we get at our favorite Chinese restaurant. The only thing I did was add a little soy sauce for extra flavor.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This is a very hearty soup; I love all the vegetables. I thought it needed some spicing up though. I added cumin, thyme, and a little cayenne pepper. I'll make it again; it was a big hit with my family.

Slow Cooker Apple-Scented Venison Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
The apple really made a difference in the flavor of the roast, it was very tasty. I did use twice as much broth, half went in the crockpot with the roast to keep it moist and the other half was used for gravy.

Savory Stuffed Chicken Breast with Plum Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I decided to make this recipe because I had two leftover corn muffins I didn't want to go to waste. I can't wait to make it again, this is the best chicken recipe ever. As someone else suggested I used apricot preserves because that's what I had on hand.

Frosted Rhubarb Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
These are very good cookies, just wish the rhubarb flavor was more intense. I'll use the suggestions to leave the pieces bigger and maybe add a little extra next time.

Honey Peanut Granola

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
This is the best granola recipe I've tried and I've tried a few. Instead of peanuts I added dried cherries and almonds. I can't wait to try it with different fruit/nut combinations. Make a double batch, one is not enough.
