About this Cook
I am a married mother of two beautiful children. My husband is a devout vegetarian and has been for more than 20 years so through a lot of experimentation I've learned to make a vegetarian version of just about every dish you can name. He is also severely diabetic so I am the queen of lo carb and sugar free cooking. As far as my children are concerned, they are 4 and 2 so if it isn't a chicken nugget they're not interested lol.
My favorite things to cook
I am currently on a bread craze. I am trying every bread recipe I can get my hands on. There is just something therapeutic about kneading dough, and much cheaper than a therapist lol.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am from a long line of hillbillies lol. So, I grew up believing that everything was better if you added a scoop of bacon grease. I have since modified most of my family recipes to be much healthier, but you'll still occasionally catch me saving my bacon grease.
My cooking triumphs
My family used to own a bar and grill in Portsmouth where I grew up. We did a blue plate lunch special and every Wednesday I cooked my recipe for Loaded Baked Potato Soup. We would start getting orders an hour before we opened and evetually started selling it by the pint.
My cooking tragedies
I followed a recipe on here for a pineapple glazed chicken with cranberry stuffing. It turned out beautifully, it would have made the perfect picture for the cover of a cook book. No one in my picky family would touch it and I ended up turning it into chicken salad.

Anne's Low-Sugar Chocolate Cake
This is a VERY good low sugar recipe. What I liked best about this one is most low sugar recipes tend to cut out fat as well making a very dry cake, this one did not.

Pizza Dough I
I just made this exactly as written, not one single change. It was great! It was really quick, easy, the texture was phenomenal. I think that people need to think before they write reviews, if you're going to rate something low it should not be because of your personal tastes, but because of something integrally wrong with the recipe, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the recipe it turned out exactly as described.

Miracle Baking Powder Pie Crust
I've never given a bad rating before, but I had to say something so others wouldn't make the mistake of trying this. I made it exactly as directed and it just crumbled into pieces, I couldn't even make it form into anything. So, thinking I must've messed up somewhere I tossed it and tried it again, same results. If you somehow managed to make a crust out of this you are a miracle worker.
