Coconut Chocolate Cake I
About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to play around with new ideas, changing up ingredients and spices as I cook. I almost never cook the same dish twice. Sadly, being a college student, I almost never have the time or the cash to experiment with all the cooking I'd like, but I do my best! Dishes that involve meat or pasta sauces are my specialty, as well as salads and dressings. I'm not the best at baking, but I have the staples down pat - I can make brownies and chocolate chip cookies in no time flat!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being half-Chilean, there are tons of Chilean recipes that have become traditional in my family - empanadas, all sorts of bean soups, pantrucas, humitas. I've gotten all the recipes from my mother, but I got the creative flair from my father. When he sets out to cook something original, sometimes it's tasty and sometimes not so much, but it's always origina, that's for sure...

Coconut Chocolate Cake I
This cake totally blew me away. I made it for a 3-person birthday party and it was gone within 2 days. Impossibly awesome.

Best Ever Caramel Apple Crisp
It came out really wonderful! I didn't use the caramel topping at all because of a picky eater in my family but it was still a great basic apple crisp.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Being a college student, I don't have much time to bake or money to go buy those awesome bakery cookies. This recipe's great 'cause it takes no time at all and gives me loads of yummy cookies! I also like to replace half of the chocolate chips with peanut butter or caramel chips.
