Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
I was looking for a way to use up my leftovers from Thanksgiving - this was perfect. Although I don't like to stray from following a recipe before I try it, I did (a little). I followed the recipe accordingly, but I also added a 15 oz. can of mixed vegetables over the turkey, and instead of the stuffing mix (I didn't have any), I crumbled up about 10 "buttery" crackers (Sociables) over the mashed potatoes, then drizzled the melted butter over that. This was heavenly. My kids aren't big turkey eaters, but they (as well as myself and husband) had seconds and thirds on this. This is definately a keeper.

This was WONDERFUL! Easy to make and very delicious. My children have asked me to make this at least once a week. A definite keeper.

Chicken and Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2001
My family loved this. Very easy and quick. Like some of the other reviewers, I would add more sauce and pasta, maybe even increase the meats (for a recipe that was scaled to serve 4 adults, the portions were quite small). Excellent!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
This was so good and so easy. I modified my roast by using cream of mushroom and golden mushroom, and instead of 1 1/4 cups of water, I used 1/2 cup of red wine and 3/4 cup of water. Delicious!

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
This is unbelievable. So easy to make and sooooooooo delicious. My family inhaled them. I also diced my apples, used 1/2 cup of water, and after pouring the butter mix over the dumplings, I sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar. I also turned them over halfway through cooking. I made extra for my neighbors, and they loved it!

Garlic Green Beans

Great way to fix green beans. My two children who are picky eaters ate every bite and even asked for seconds. It's a keeper.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2001
This was fantastic. I served this to a group of people and I had several ask me for the recipe. My kids couldn't get enough of it. I will say that the cinnamon chips were a bit tedious to make, though very tasty. I'll definately be making this recipe in the future.

Banana Boats

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2001
I made this for my 9 and 10 year olds and they loved it. My 9 year old has never liked bananas, but she went nuts over this recipe. It was quick and easy and I'll definitely make it again. (I made mine in the oven, it took about 15 minutes to melt the chips and marshmallows.)

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2001
My overall 5 star rating came from my kids - I had a very bad cold when I made these, so I couldn't taste them, but my kids said it was the best banana bread they've ever had (I made muffins and used an 8x8 square pan). I could tell by the texture that it was very moist. I'm freezing a couple, so that when I can taste food, these will be the first I try!

Chicken Eugene

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2001
What a great blend of flavors! This was so easy to make - my husband (who doesn't comment much on cooking) loved it and wants me to make it at least once a week. Next time I'm going to cut down a bit on the dried beef - it was just a little too salty. Great recipe!!!

Green Turkey and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2001
This was kind of bland - it needed something to moisten it up - maybe eggs. Also needed some sort of seasoning.

Veal Stew

I don't cook veal that much because I'm just not used to the flavor - but this recipe is fantastic. My meat-picky kids liked this too. It smells heavenly cooking.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2001
This is great. Although the asparagus doesn't look very appetizing (slightly on the brownish side), they are delicious! My asparagus hating children even liked them.

Steamed Radishes

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2001
My husband and I are on a low-carb diet ...radishes are very low-carb. Anyway, I fixed these and loved them! My husband couldn't believe they were radishes. Cooking them and adding butter took away the bite and bitterness and left them mellow and sweet.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2001
These were great. I had a lot of people asking for the recipe. I did make one change, though. I followed the recipe, but I did add some lump crabmeat (a small can, I minced it up) when mixing everything together. It was wonderful.

Veggie Pizza

When I was reading the reviews of this recipe I couldn't believe that it could be that good. Wow, was I wrong. This was delicious. I recently had an appetizer party and this was the first to go. My 7 and 8 year old also couldn't get enough. I will definitely fix this again.

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2001
I didn't get much out of this at all. Sure, the recipe is fast and easy, but my chops were sort of bland - there was hardly any flavor at all (I even put on more lemon pepper than the recipe calls for.) I don't think I'll be making this again.
