Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
This is so excellent and so simple. I followed everything as written (except I didn't have any celery seed so I used garlic powder instead). I did drain off the extra liquid that the veggie/chicken mixture was in because it looked like it would make everything too thin. That was my mistake...I wish I hadn't done that because it would have made the inside slightly more "saucy" (which would have been better). Mine was still very good. I wouldn't change a thing next time. The entire pie was gone in about 10 minutes!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I thought this was very good, but I did make some adjustments. I added half the sugar that it was called for, and even then, I thought it was still a little too sweet; added only one tbsp of sesame seeds, and a little more vinager than what was called for (I also used half white distilled vinager and half raspberry balsamic vinager). I served this and was given many compliments.

Grilled Tuna Teriyaki

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
I followed the recipe as it reads, except I let it marinade about 3 hours and added about a tablespoon of lime juice. Excellent recipe.

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
I followed everything exactly, except didn't a can of chicken broth. I decided to mix a little powdered chicken broth with water and added it until it got to a consistency I liked. We are on a low-carb diet, so we just ate this plain - without rice - and loved it. It was very easy to make and tasted like it cooked all day.

Mexican Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
This is our family's favorite soup. I add a little more cumin and taco seasoning mix than what is called for. I also stir in a little cheddar cheese before it is served just to thicken it up a little. You MUST have it with avocados. Great recipe!

Marinated Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
Sorry, I just thought this was ok. I thought there was too much worchestchire sauce as well as lemon pepper. Not a total loss-just o.k.

Sausage Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
This was great. I had to change a few things because I didn't have everything on hand. I added onions (about 1/3 cup, raw), instead of ground sausage, I had to use maple links - I sliced them thinly (about 8 of them), and used a blend of mozzarella and cheddar. I did have to cook it longer than suggested - I cooked it about 30 minutes. Easy and tasty recipe.

Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
I've been trying to find an easy way to make wonderful ribs for years - this recipe does it! I made these the other day for my daughters (and friends) and they couldn't get enough of them. My biggest rib "connisuer" (she's 14 years old) said not to change a thing - that these were perfect.

Teriyaki Flank Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
This is unbelievable...I let this marinade about 2-3 days. My kids ate it up like candy and asked for it at least once a week. I had a good flank steak marinade I'd been using, but this tops it! Thanks.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
This was excellent. I didn't quite have a pound of bacon, so I threw in some cubed ham. I also like my soups pureed. I pureed it, but it came out very thick, so I added a little more broth and cream (probably about a cup or so). This is excellent soup!

Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2004
This was quick and easy to make. I don't know what the people were talking about when they said it took too long to chop everything. It was no longer than to fix a typical evening meal. I will say that I did use the pre-cooked and sliced southwestern chicken slices (I'm sure that saved quite a bit of time - other than that I followed the recipe exactly. It was soooo good - especially the pico de gallo. The grocery store didn't have any jalapeno peppers - just anaheim - still turned out excellent. My husband and I are on a low carb diet - we just used low-carb tortillas, gave the kids flour tortillas and it was great. (I followed the advice of another reviewer - I sprayed olive oil in a pan, placed a tortilla on the bottom, placed all the ingredients on, put another torilla on top, sprayed it with olive oil and baked in a 350° oven for about 10 minutes and it turned out perfect.

Barbequed Thai Style Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2003
Excellent chicken! I thought the cilantro would be overpowering, but it wasn't. The taste was delicious and even my picky pre-teen children loved it. I used boneless chicken breasts, grilled about 7 minutes per side and they turned out moist and tender. I'd serve this to even the pickiest eaters because the taste is so flavorful.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
I did not like this at all. I followed the directions exactly as written...the consistency was too thick and "gritty," the taste was much too salty, and I thought there was way too much of a parmesean cheese taste. I served it over pasta for my kids (who love alfredo sauce) and they wouldn't eat it.
