Too Much Chocolate Cake

i don't like cake and I don't like to bake, but I had to make a dessert for a potluck dinner. I chose this recipe because of the ratings it had. I followed the advice of another and used mini chocolate chips.....don't really know if it made a difference taste-wise. I did have to bake it about 15 minutes longer than written. Took the leftovers to work and it disappeared! And, as someone who doesn't like cake, I thought it was fantastic (everyone else thought so too!). I also want to comment on the people who rate lower on this recipe based on their own changes. I strongly feel you have no right to rate the recipe if you've made your own changes or additions to the recipe. Make the recipe as written, then rate away....it's not fair to the person who submitted the recipe to have it slammed for changes you made.

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

This was very tasty. I followed the recipe exactly, except cooked it on low for about 8 hours. There was no way I could slice the meat since it was falling apart when I lifted it out of the slow cooker (which isn't a bad thing). It was just a little too spicy for my taste, so I'll probably use just one pepper the next time. I also thought the sauce would be thicker (mine was very runny) so I'll thicken it up with flour or cornstarch after I take the meat out the next time I make it.

My Best Clam Chowder

This was pretty good, but there was something about the vinager flavor that I didn't like. I will definitely make this again, but won't add the vinager and will add another can of clams as well as a little bacon.

Black Bean, Corn, and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese

I've made this twice in a week because everyone loves it. I did use a little less dressing the second time I made it and liked it a little better that way. I took a double batch on a four-day trip and it never got soggy. Excellent summer recipe!

Herb Roasted Pork

Fantastic. I didn't have any sage, so I ground up some rosemary. I used apple cider for the vinegar. I used a 2 pound tenderloin and it roasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes...probably about 15 minutes too long because it turned out just a little bit dryer than I prefer. When I fix it the next time I'm going to double up on the sauce amount.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Made this as written (except I didn't dredge in flour...low carb diet) up until the end when I began to simmer the sauce. I love balsamic vinegar, but I thought it was too strong at this point, so I added more chicken broth (about a half cup) and a few tablespoons of cream to the simmering sauce. Loved it!

Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

This is a great recipe. I did add an apple (granny smith), as another reviewer did, just out of curiosity. It was great and I'm sure the soup is just as good prepared as listed. I was skeptical of the taste as it was cooking - it just tasted ok, but after I added the sherry and cream, the soup just took off! This recipe is a keeper!

Panzanella Salad

Excellent! I made two minor changes: used cherry tomatoes (cut in half) and didn't use the olives, instead I sprinkled some capers in there. This is a keeper. My picky teenage daughter even loved it (she suggested to put in cubed chicken next time...hmmm!)

Blueberry Buckle

Very yummy - I ended up having to bake it 20 minutes more than the recipe called for. As suggested by other reviewers, I also added a little vanilla and lemon zest. Next time for the topping I may use half regular sugar and half brown sugar - we'll see!

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

LOVED IT! I followed the recipe as written, except I didn't have fresh limes (just the lime juice in the green plastic "lime") excellent anyway. I also added a very small amount of fresh rosemary (about a tsp.) to the marinade. We couldn't get enough of the pork. I can't wait to try this marinade with chicken!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Like so many of the other reviewers, my kids ate these up when they've never liked brussels sprouts before. The best part is the darkened leaves! I cut the sprouts in half to save cooking time (they took about 25 minutes). Delicious!

Spicy Spaghetti Squash

This was really good and fresh tasting. I made a few modifications...left out the green onion (didn't have any), used dried seasonings instead of fresh (didn't have any), added some leftover shitake mushrooms when I cooked the onion/garlic mixture, used ground chicken instead of turkey (didn't have any), used about a tablespoon more of wine than called for, added a little salt at the end. This was so easy, healthy and quick. Even my teenagers loved it!

Fragrant Chicken Curry

I followed everything exactly, except didn't a can of chicken broth. I decided to mix a little powdered chicken broth with water and added it until it got to a consistency I liked. We are on a low-carb diet, so we just ate this plain - without rice - and loved it. It was very easy to make and tasted like it cooked all day.

Mexican Chicken Soup

This is our family's favorite soup. I add a little more cumin and taco seasoning mix than what is called for. I also stir in a little cheddar cheese before it is served just to thicken it up a little. You MUST have it with avocados. Great recipe!

Sausage Breakfast Pizza

This was great. I had to change a few things because I didn't have everything on hand. I added onions (about 1/3 cup, raw), instead of ground sausage, I had to use maple links - I sliced them thinly (about 8 of them), and used a blend of mozzarella and cheddar. I did have to cook it longer than suggested - I cooked it about 30 minutes. Easy and tasty recipe.

Sylvia's Ribs

I've been trying to find an easy way to make wonderful ribs for years - this recipe does it! I made these the other day for my daughters (and friends) and they couldn't get enough of them. My biggest rib "connisuer" (she's 14 years old) said not to change a thing - that these were perfect.

Teriyaki Flank Steak

This is unbelievable...I let this marinade about 2-3 days. My kids ate it up like candy and asked for it at least once a week. I had a good flank steak marinade I'd been using, but this tops it! Thanks.
