Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
These are sooo good and very easy to make. I actually call them labour muffins now as I baked them while I was in early labour - they are that easy to make. The only thing I've changed is to use 1/2 cup white sugar and a 1/4 cup brown sugar and I add a teaspoon of vanilla. Thanks for a delicious muffin recipe Wendy - I never have too many bananas in my freezer anymore!

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This is the best cheese fondue I have ever tasted and/or made and it is so easy! I made it for a girls night fondue party and it went faster than the chocolate fondue. I do agree with others reviews that you should use the best cheese you can find and a good bottle of sauvignon blanc (I probably was a little more liberal with the wine than the recipe suggested). A little bit of lemon juice is also a must as it really smooths out the cheeses. I made this in a saucepan and then transferred to a ceramic fondue pot - good tip if you do this, warm up your pot first so the cheese doesn't cool and you have to wait for the flame to hear it back up.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
Great recipe - I just made a bit more sauce then the recipe indicated. Only other thing I changed is I used fresh grated ginger instead of ground. Easy and delicious - the best kind of dinner.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
I served this at a dinner party and it was one of the best soups I have made! I used red onion partly for colour and partly for taste. I also omitted the tarragon but kept the cilantro, which does add that little bit of oomph at the end. I served it with a small bit of shredded cheddar cheese and a bit of chopped green onion on top - looked amazing and had rave reviews at my dinner party. Thanks for a great keeper!

Fabulously Sweet Pear Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
This is a very good cake and extremely easy to make. I took out the nuts and reduced the oil by 1/4 cup like had been suggested and it was moist and tasty - although a bit boring. I just added a simple caramel glaze, as I think icing would be a bit too heavy. Thanks to grandma for a great recipe!
