Root Beer Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
These smelled delicious but I did not like the flavor of them at all, and neither did my daughter. My husband loved them though, so I am compromising between his five stars and my one.

Classic Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
These are great! I've made them with the original recipe, and also with blueberries, strawberries, chocolate chips, and even (cooked) bacon mixed in. They freeze well for quick weekday breakfasts.

No-Bake Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
These are awesome! We've made them at least 10 different ways, and they are great every time. Our favorite is with craisins, sunflower nuts and chopped almonds. I've also tried substituting almond extract for half of the vanilla, and it was delicious. The possibilities are really endless! I do as another reviewer said and use a piece of wax paper so I can press them down TIGHTLY, and I wait until they are all the way cool to cut them. That way they are less likely to come apart. I store them in a big ziplock and they last about a week before they start getting crumbly.

I love love LOVE these cookies! They are chewy, sweet but not TOO sweet, and have a great fudgy chocolate flavor. I will make them again for sure!

Grandma's Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I'm always looking for good dairy free recipes that don't use hydrogenated fats. This is a very moist, dense cake with great chocolate flavor. After reading the reviews, I added 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and increased the cocoa to a full 1/2 cup. I baked it for 30 minutes, and it still was almost too moist... next time I will try baking a little longer (or maybe reduce the liquid a bit?). I'm still giving it 5 stars though, because my husband and daughter raved over it, and I thought it was pretty darn delicious too.

Tropical Fruit Dip

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
I made this for a party. First I followed the recipe as written, and the dip just tasted like mayo. So, I added another cup of marshmallow creme, a little more orange juice concentrate (maybe 1/4 tsp), and an extra dash of ginger. That sweetened it up a bit and covered up the mayo taste, but it still didn't go over well at the party. All of the fruit was gone, but most of the dip ended up in the garbage.
