Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
Very tasty but the batter didn't want to stay on in my shallow fryer. If my fryer were deeper I don't think there would be a problem. Will make again but need to work out some kinks.

Super Easy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
I used only 1/2 cup and milk and the full amount of vinegar. I didn't try to roll them out since my goal this morning was dropped donut holes. This recipe was excellent for that. Once I managed to get my oil the right temp these were wonderful

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Excellent icing. Dries quick but not too quick. Hold sprinkles well, easy to work with and easy to pipe. Takes color extremely well, even black. I love that it stays shiny to.

Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Taste is great, texture is off. Like other reviewers I added 1/2 tsp of almond extract. Like I said, very tasty but the texture was more cookie like than macaroon like.

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
I had high hopes for these cookies with the great reviews. The dough tasted fantastic. The finished product tasted like flour. They rolled out wonderfully but the finished texture was flaky, like a biscuit. I made the mistake of refrigerating part of the dough overnight to see how it did...it was a disaster.

Chicken With Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Too much teriyaki, too much orange, too sweet. A very unbalanced sauce. If you want to make orange chicken look elsewhere, this will only disappoint.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
I'm a chef at a major university. This is a recipe I've made many times and have it memorized since it is the best banana bread recipe out there. I usually make it as a cake, using half white and half brown sugar, pecans and chocolate chips and I make a sweetened cream cheese icing to go with it. The icing I make tastes more like cream cheese than frosting so its not too sweet. I made the cake for some of my co-workers (others chefs and cooks)and everyone who tried it said it was the best banana anything they've ever had. One woman said she even dreamed about it that night and people talked about it all week. This is the perfect banana bread.

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Was all crust and way too little filling. The opposite proportions from what I wanted. Tasted like a shortbread cookie with almost no lemon flavor and none of the gooey lemon that belongs on top.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
Very very good. There was too much butter in the recipe for my liking so I used only 1/4 cup. I added an extra egg and used skim milk...it set perfectly. I also used 7-8 ounces of fresh mushrooms and cooked them with the garlic and onion until soft before adding the spinach. As someone suggested before I cooked the pie crust for about 8 minutes before adding the filling to prevent a soggy bottom. This quiche was the best quiche I've ever made.

Authentic Mexican Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
As I was making them I thought to myself that this is more pie like than tortilla like and *suprise* the end result was basically pie crust.

Cheesy Onion Focaccia

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
This bread is amazing. Every time my friends come over for dinner they ask if I'll make this recipe for them. I usually add some very thinly sliced tomatoes to the top along with the onion as an extra touch.
