Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
So easy and so good! I did make a few changes. Thanks to the reviews, I used low sodium taco seasoning to reduce the salt. Instead of regular chili powder, I used 1/8 teaspoon of chipotle chili powder and omitted the hot sauce. I'm definitely making this again but next time I'm going to triple the recipe for freezing. I used this to make quesadillas, burritos, and salad. YUMMY!

Eggs Benedict

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Way too much lemon juice. Cut the amount in half and it might actually taste like hollandaise sauce. I made the mistake of using this recipe for Valentine's Day breakfast and I really regret it.

Chicken Chile Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
The first time I made this, I put it in the crockpot. That time I only gave it 4 stars, but I'm changing my rating. I made it in the oven for my family and it was much better. Also, I was careful not to shred up the chicken too much and kept the pieces in bigger 1 inch chunks. It was great! Even my 2 year old daughter liked this.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
This was a really dry recipe. If I were to make this again, I'd probably increase it to 2 cans of soup, extra cheese, and would probably toss the stuffing with chicken broth before putting it in the crock pot as it was also very dry. Dry stuffing is never yummy. I would also suggest cutting up the ham slices. The full slices made it very hard for everyone to get some ham in their serving.

Donna's Cornbread, Sausage and Jalapeno Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This is excellent! The only thing I changed was the amount of jalapeno. I only added 1 instead of 2 because I was afraid it would be too hot for my daughter to eat. If I could do again, I would change the plain bread crumbs to cornbread crumbs. I also would have put this in a smaller pan. I only had a 9x13 and spreading it out throughout the pan made it a little dryer than it should have been.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This was so good! It is much better than the mushroom soup version. The only thing I would change (or add) is mixing French Onions in with the crackers.

Holiday Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This recipe is terrific! Per others' suggestions, I did reduce the sugar to about 1 1/2 a cup. I will definitely use this recipe from now on. I've already received requests to make this again for Christmas. My husband said it had a real 'holiday' taste.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This was such a great addition to our Thanksgiving meal. However, be careful about the size of your pan. I cooked this in a 9x13 and didn't have enough of the brown sugar crumble to cover the entire pan. It would have been better in a square pan.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This recipe is really good for a basic turkey but it didn't turn out quite as juicy as I expected. The breasts were a bit dry. I also used white grape juice instead of white wine. Everything tasted great. The vegetables turned out to be very tasty. I will probably use this recipe again.

Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
This is an excellent cake. Instead of Devil's Food, I used a chocolate fudge cake mix. The cake was super moist and full of chocolate! It did need about 8 more minutes of cooking time, but that was probably because I bought a super moist cake mix. Although it's great as is with the glaze, for the major chocolate cake lover I would probably make it with a thicker chocolate icing or frosting.

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
Great recipe but way more work than needed. I cut up the velveeta into chunks and placed them in my casserole dish. Then I poured in the two cans of soup and 3/4 c. milk. I put the casserole dish in the oven at 350 and let the cheese melt. Once it was melted, I took the casserole dish out of the oven, stirred the contents until well mixed and added the rice, broccoli, and chopped onion..I omitted the celery. I cooked it for about 30 minutes on 350. It was a big hit.

Split Pea and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
This is the first time I've tried Split Pea Soup. I didn't have any beef broth so I made it with chicken broth. It still came out great. I enjoyed it and will make it again.
