Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2014
I do not think these were bland. I was a little afraid of the onion and celery because it's difficult to cut them up small enough, but they added just the right amount of flavor. I used a food processor to make it creamy. These were delicious!

Shrimp and Asparagus

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2014
While making this, I was certain it would be a disaster. It just didn't look like it was possible to get much flavor on all those noodles out of just the butter and lemon, but boy was I wrong! This was surprisingly good, with the mushroom, lemon, and butter balancing each other out nicely. Definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing this!

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2014
This was almost too easy not to give it 5 stars! Took me about 3 minutes in the morning to put this together, and it was finished by the time I got out of work! You can't beat that! The only thing I hoped for was a little more flavor. Next time, I will follow another user's recommendation and cut up the pork first, and maybe double the seasoning. Otherwise, this is a great recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2014
I make this recipe about once a week now. It is outstanding, and I especially love that it doesn't taste healthy! You MUST try this! The only thing I would be cautious about is using 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt. I did this and it was way too salty. This last time, i used about 1/4 teaspoon of salt and it turned out perfect!

I have started using this recipe regularly. It is so easy and quick and tastes as though you have spent hours on it! Delicious! Thank you for this recipe! :)

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2014
Typically, I love the 4.5-5 star recipes on this site. But, this one did not do it for me (or my husband who eats anything). It was one-note, and after a while, that note wasn't the best.

Killer Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2013
Maybe I just don't get it. I love seafood. I love bread soaked in broth. I also love fennel and garlic. What I don't love is rosemary in my teeth. I also think clam juice and rosemary together makes for a very weird flavor. I'm not sure what is so appetizing about this, but obviously it is quite popular. I would love to go check it out at the restaurant to see what all the fuss is about. But, until then, I won't be trying this again.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
I made these in two separate ovens at two different houses. On my first attempt, they were basically raw when I took them out after 10 minutes, so I put them in an additional 5 minutes. Apparently, that was too long, and they were flat, spread out, and all squished together. On my second attempt, after 10 minutes, they looked great. However, when I tasted one, it was raw... once again! Tasted like cookie dough, but not in a good way. Very frustrating! Next time, I will buy prepackaged peanut butter cookies and put a kiss on top. Much less trouble, and much cheaper considering I used an entire jar of peanut butter and 2 cups of sugar!

Spaghetti Squash Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
The taco seasoning is definitely going to determine the outcome of your recipe. I used Old El Paso taco seasoning and made the recipe as is with hard tacos, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. It was outstanding! My only complaint is that it is entirely too hot for my taste, but my husband told me it was the perfect amount of heat. I would only use 1/2 (maybe even 1/3) of the jalapeno next time. Otherwise, this dish is great, and healthy!

Best Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2013
Delicious! I made the recipe exactly as is (except for using light sour cream. I did put the stuffing in the food processor because the chunks were pretty big and I figured they wouldn't stick. The chicken was juicy and tender and the crust had just enough crisp to it. It was kind of like Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing in one bite, but way better!!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2013
Considering the fact that this recipe requires so few ingredients and virtually no time, it's pretty darn good. It is ULTRA sweet! Adding the extra tablespoon of cocoa powder does level out the sweetness, but it's still pretty sweet. The texture is fine. It is very similar to one you would find in the grocery store. Thanks for the recipe!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
I've only had lettuce wraps with chicken. After making these, I think I will continue making them that way. The recipe is not bad. The sauce is great, but I think the ground beef makes it taste less Asian.

Grilled Skirt Steak with Homemade Asian Barbeque Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
Wow! Very rarely do I think something is worthy of a 5 star rating, but this is simply the best skirt steak I have ever had! Not sure marinated it for 15 minutes would actually do the trick. Maybe it's true, but I didn't want tough meat. So to be sure, I marinated for about a day and a half, turning it over and over in the fridge to make sure all sides were nice and juicy! I can't wait to get more skirt steak to do it again! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
I have mixed feelings about this. My steaks were incredibly tender after marinating for 24 hours, so it has that going for it. But, the marinade itself has a weird, earthy flavor to it (because of all those spices). I was not a huge fan. It didn't have an overpowering taste on the steak, but I did was one reviewer suggested - I coated the mushrooms with the marinade and cooked them. You could really tell the marinade's taste with the mushrooms, and it was not pleasant. It was a little dirty tasting.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
I agree with many reviewers in saying this was a chili rather than a soup. Most of the juices had reduced after the 8 hours. But, it was delicious! I used a whole package of taco seasoning with the ground beef, and then added a half package to the "soup" (so, I used 1 1/2 pkgs). If you like a lot of spice, definitely add more taco seasoning.

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I'm giving this a three not because it didn't taste good, but because a recipe that has this many calories should be one of the best things you've ever put in your mouth! I knew when making it that this was not a low calorie dinner by any means. But, as I was making it I realized that just an 8 oz container of chive/onion cream cheese is 720 calories! Not to mention the butter and mushroom soup. It is not a bad recipe though. Definitely not worthy of 5 stars, but worthy of 4 if you cut down the calories by using other ingredients (if that's even possible). I added fresh mushrooms to this, and served it over asparagus. Rice was my first choice, but wasn't eating any more calories! I think it needed something else, as it provided a one-note soupy flavor. Maybe putting chives on top would have balanced out the taste a bit, and added a little crunch.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Even after cutting the sugar in half, this was WAY too sweet. I didn't like it, but I'm giving it four stars due to the number of compliments I received on it. Once I got home with the leftovers, I put feta cheese in it, which cut the sweetness and added a bit of sour/tart taste to it. Much better with it! I would have liked to put in goat cheese like others suggested, but didn't have any. So, if you are concerned about the sweet, add in some feta or goat cheese! It makes a huge difference!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
Mine did not come out even close to a soup. I think it should be listerd as chili, as it's very chunky and has no broth to it. With that being said, it is delicious as a chili or a dip for chips. I did not have beer, so I used 12 oz of chicken broth instead. Someone suggested using water, but I thought it would drown the taste. After seeing the final product, water would work just fine. My husband loved it as well! Will be making this again, just not as a soup! :)

Shrimp Quinoa

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2012
Since my husband and I have started eating healthy, it's been difficult to find easy, decent recipes that we can make. So, this was a nice surprise. I did not have asparagus or mushrooms, so I used zucchini instead. The raisins, according to my mom who tried it, are not necessary. I don't like raisins, so I picked them out. Altogether, a good, heathy, and easy recipe!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2012
I do not like quinoa by itself, or black beans, and I definitely don't like cilantro. However, my husband and I are trying to eat healthy, so I sucked it up and made this. For being so healthy, it is delicious. I mixed shredded baked chicken into it, and we both enjoyed this recipe very much. My only comment is that the two cans of black beans is way too much! Only needed one.
