About this Cook
I am married and have 2 children, both boys.I went back to college at 40 years old for a career change. I work for Tuolumne County Office of Education as a Special Education Aide for preschool children...a career I enjoy immensely!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken of any kind is a family favorite. During the hot summer months we BBQ quite a bit so marinades and spice rubs come in handy. During the winter months the slow cooker is a must... I have 2 of them so I can make several recipes then stock up the freezer. My family also loves mexican cuisine with a favorite being mexican lasagna.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Trying something at least once. Not everyone is going to like all of the same things and that's o.k....but at least try it.
My cooking triumphs
Most of what I cook is a triumph. I like to play with ingredients to suit our tastes so when it is a positive change that the whole famiy enjoys, I know I've done good!
My cooking tragedies
Angel food cake.....just can't seem to get it right!

Million Dollar Chicken
I'm glad Mauigirl posted that she could not find nor did she use the Aleppo pepper. A substitute could have been used but was not. It is good to know that a simple teaspoon of the pepper did not make or break this terrific looking and sounding chicken. I do not know what an Aleppo pepper is or where to find it. I too will be leaving it out. I am sure dried Thyme was not an issue either. Sometimes we just have to go with what we know and have on hand. Thank you Mauigirl for your post.
