Justin's Hoosier Daddy Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
I made this tonight for dinner. I usually dont change a recipe first time making it, but this time i did. I like it a lot but for me and hubby I knew all that red pepper would be to much for me, and so i did 1/2 tsp and also i put in one can of broth becuz it seemed like 2 would be to much, a dash of cayenne and I used ground beef and some italian mild sausage also. was just the right kick for us. will make again

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I made this last night made as is. And after the soup base simmered a short while I tasted it and to me it was bland. So I added more things. I cooked the hamb with 3 cloves garlic, and the onion. I used beef broth not chicken. I added 4 dashes worcesterchire sauce a dash cayenne and a few dashes franks hot sauce and also about a tbl chili sauce. Same as ketchup but kicked up a notch. I dont usually modify first time making a recipe but it did need it. Great start base though can do many things with it. I also did not cook macaroni in with soup, makes it to starchy in my opinion and this way you can add as much as you want, and when you reheat it mac wont be so soggy. And it soaks alot of liquid out of soup. I made cornbread with this and it was good hearty meal. And leaving macaroni separate for left overs next day you can make rice to add to it. Thx for a good recipe

Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I took it to a small get together last night. I made it just like it said except I used pumpernickel cocktail bread , I didnt toast it I made dip ahead of time, and I cut my english cukes with the processor. I also added dry dill right in with cream cheese, which i mixed in processor also. Bought fresh dill and put a sprig on top. When I got to the party I put it all together then. Out of 8 people all 8 loved it. And there was one fussy person there too so I was suprised. I will make many more times, next time will try french bread. also make sure to make dip night before or chill at least a few hours

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
made this tonight and it was just ok for me. I did marinade it all night and made mustard sauce too at same time. I have made many pork tenderloins, and I hardly ever marinade , just rub spices on and your good to go. They will always come out tender unless of course you over cook it. And I did only use 1 tbsp of mustard in sauce and it has a kick to it. I didnt care for the taste and neither did my BF. Will I make again maybe...

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I never made brownies from scratch, but these were real easy to make and I had everything on hand , and taste so much better than a box mix. I took it into our office today and had many compliments. Only thing different I did was to use only 2 1/2 cps sug, I cooked it in glass 13 x 9 pan and only for 30 minutes. They were perfect.. I also added frosting as if they weren't sweet enough. My Boyfriend tasted them and said your not taking them all to work are you lol, So I did share with him. Great recipe thx

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
I made this as is, except like others I doubled the topping .I also had to cook tem minutes longer , I checked it with a tooth pick and it was done. To lisa who made it in a pie plate that is a lot of batter for that small dish I can see why it took so long to cook. When I brought it to the office I had many requests for the recipe. And most of them were dietitians If they only knew how much calories were in that. But they do now cause they have the recipe. And one said it is the best she has ever had and that she wanted to eat the whole pan, I only brought some not all of it, and it was gone in minutes

Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaves)

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
my grandpa was from the middle east and I remember these growing up I love them. Only we made them with ground lamb breast with rice and mint and lemon. yummy. I can't ever find grapeleaves with lamb in them, not even in a restaurant that sells them I will try this but will add lamb and leave the currants and pinenuts out, as that is not how I like them.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
these were easy and quick to make and I had everything on hand too, but they were to cakey for me. I like a more chewy dense brownie, but I was craving choc and it did the trick. Next time I would put choc frosting on it

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
I have made this in the past as it was written and it was good. But recently my Bf can't have seeds so I changed it and added banana creme pudding mix instead of pistachio. And deleted the banana's, I also added extra mandarin oranges and some coconut flakes. No complaints very good recipe and can be made to what ever your preference is.

Beer Dip I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I liked this dip we took it our friends and it was my first time trying and or eating it so I told them they were my guinea pigs and they loved it. But as I was just going on to write this review I realized I completely forgot the cheddar cheese... :( But it was good just the same. I did add double beer and mixed it in the processor. Next time I will have to make it the way it is written, how I screwd up something so easy I will never know.. But it ended up gone even without the cheese.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
These were Excellent... I did do what a few viewers have stated. On the bottom crust I sprinkled some garlic powder all over it, and also pre backed it 6 minutes I layered it as stated but I added sliced green onions on top of the cheese and the rest of the meat and roasted peppers, and I used 3 eggs, a few dashes of hot sauce in egg mixture, parm cheese and pepper. Oh and I almost forgot instead of boiled ham I bought hot ham And I used one more egg on top crust. Baked for the time it said with foil, and baked uncovered 20 mins, but checked to make sure wasnt browning to much. I let it rest 10 minutes. And it came out of pan perfect and tasted yummy....I am my worst critic when it comes to cooking but I have to say this was really good.. Thanks for the recipe it is pricy to make but I will make again for sure.

Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
I liked this mac and cheese recipe, very easy. I would not cook it that many hours, I only did 3 1/2 hours and that was plenty, and I do stir my crock pot items before they are done. After 2 hours I stirred it. I also added a little velvetta and I used extra sharp cheese , and plenty of grated onion in it salt and pepper too. If you like a custard texture to mac and cheese you will like this
