Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
Same as bev below my comment.I too was making for a cinco de mayo theme dinner at our camp. And I came across this recipe in my box.I have been wanting to make this for a long time but never did.Wow you dont know what your missing... I made this exactly as written.I cut it into small bite size pieces ,and people were wishing I had made 2 pans.. So the very next day was my 1 yr anniv. So I asked hubby what he wanted me to bake. And he hands down wanted this again. So I made it again on sun.Shared with camp, and they were thrilled and they even got to have more that a bite size piece lol Only thing I did different was to melt butter for the topping and stir sug and cinn in and spread evenly on top . This would be great with some grilled apples and or baked apples.Easy enough to do while at camp .

overall taste was good. But with that being said I cooked it on low for 8 hours. high for that many hours would be way to hot for my crock pot.I also did not cut carrots into match sticks,i put whole baby carrots in.potatoes and carrots were perfectly cooked ,meat tender. would make again

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
best lemon bars I have ever made. I even took them to a very fussy friends house for a party and she complains about everything and she loved them..I did add more lemon a personal preference andI knew my friend would agree too.I used 5/8 cup lemon juice and I also used the rind of 1 lemon in the crust .I baked it in a smaller pan 11x 8 so filling was perfect. In my opinion I didnt think it made to much crust. Next time I make it I am going to add 1/4 cup crushed macadamia nuts to the crust as well. I think it would go good together.

Apple Crisp Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
took these to an office party and they were a big hit..And few people ask for the recipe.one friend knew exactly where to look and how to get recipe lol because I told her they were apple crisp cups. And they all know I only make recipes from here and sure enough she came on here and found it. I told her I would have printed the the recipe for her :) I did go with another reviewer and make less of the crust. and I did add an extra apple. and still could have used a little more. It is labor intensive ,and what a mess I made trying to figure out how to neatly press that crust into the mini cups.I finally used the back of my TBSP measuring cup spoons and press dough down hard with that and it was rounded enough to work.Or if I had a pestle I would have used that.I will make these again. They are perfect for partys and grab and go treats .

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
These brownies are melt in your mouth yummy. I made exactly as stated and they came out perfect. I always slightly undercook them. Made frosting and I stirred it with a fork,I had no problem with it blending together to make it spreadable.Easy recipe. I mixed it all by hand.I slightly beat the eggs before adding it to sug mixture. And stirred it all just until it was well moistened. easy easy.1 bowl one spoon. And of course frosting was just as easy. I like the honey in it too. I was leary at first. But def an excellent choice of brownie to make. I now have 2 fav brownies from this site. If you like choc, moist, fudgy then this is for you

these were very good.I made them as written the first time. and then I made a second time only I changed it a bit. I used sharp cheddar cheese in casserole and then sprinkled parm cheese on top. I used green onion instead of a reg onion. I used 6 tbs butter instead of 8.both times these went like hot cakes and I was asked for the recipe

Spiced Bacon Twists

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
I made this at camp for our pancake breakfast. I brought my broiler pan from home, put foil in the bottom and sprayed the grate first. At first they didnt seem to cook but once they started to carmelize they cooked real fast.I only made 1 # andshould have made more.Half of it was gone before I even put it on the table.Next time I will add more cayenne personal preference. And I put the mixture in a ziplock and coated the bacon that way. Many people asked me for the recipe.

Frosty Freezer Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
This is a great summer pie.I Made it for a gathering at camp, and an older friend who does not cook gave me money to go buy the stuff to make it today for him.he said it was delish. In my book anything with cream cheese and fluff has to be good.Only mistake I made was I used a 16 oz tub cool whip, thinking that was 2. Cups.not so lol. An 8 oz cool whip container yields 3 cups cool whip. I thought that it was to much cool whip lol.But even with that mistake it got rave reviews.thx for a great and easy recipe.will def be keeping this one.

Sausage Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
This recipe is very good. But just a little to much cream cheese for me.Will def make again. There are so many different things you can do with this.I think next time I will add green onion, less cr cheese, and maybe some cheddar cheese.Or even try using a flavored cream cheese.just half the amount though.

Easy Strawberry Dessert

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
This recipe was easy and was gone in minutes at our camp dinner. But I think a casserole pan was to big. I got a round angel cake and divided it in thirds and there was no way a third even covered bottom.so I took it out and put it in a lg bowl. Next time I make it and I will :) I will double recipe and put in cass pan. There were some there that didnt even get to try it,that is how fast it went, butthen again when I make something for dessert they know it will be good lol
