About this Cook
I live in small town and we all like to cook. I love my goldendoodle and she helps me cook all day. (Doesn't get to taste though)
My favorite things to cook
Come from german background, like meat and potatoe type things. But I do like lots of vegetable dishes
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to make canned goods and preserves which is somewhat a lost art in today's world
My cooking triumphs
I make really good "pots-of-stuff". My problem is I don't use recipes - I just dump. Unfortunately, my food never turns out the same.
My cooking tragedies
Bread - I can't make bread. Not good at pie crust either. Would love to learn to do that.

Sun-dried Tomatoes II
If you have a convection oven - set it really low. Then you don't need a food dehydrater. My new Electrolux oven worked PERFECT for this and i could do a million at one time.

Sun-dried Tomatoes I
I did this with both Roma tomatoes and lg. cherry tomatoes. Much to my surprise the cherry tomatoes were better - much more flavor. This is a geat way to use all those 1000's of extra cherry tom. I think I'll freeze them to make sure they last.
