Vermicelli Noodle Bowl

Reviewed: May 7, 2015
It was great. I made it almost exactly as the reciped called for except I did not have mint and didn't chop peanuts. I will tweak the dressing a little next time possibly make it a little sweater however overall this was excellent.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Just finished making and enjoying this recipe for dinner. Outstanding given the low calorie high protein content. Followed the recipe exactly and will definitely make again. Next time will cut the salt in half.

Santa Maria Grilled Tri-Tip Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2015
Wow! This was great. I followed the directions exactly however I cut the crushed garlic down to one clove. Wife and kids loved it. Will definitely make again. I don't really care if The Santa Maria residents state that it doesn't taste like Santa Maria style. It was delicious.

Shockingly delicious. I reduced the serving size to 10 servings and followed the recipe with the addition of ground turkey. Will make more often.

Chef John's Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2014
This was quite time consuming and I swore I would not make it again however after I tasted it and my family raved about it I will make again. I followed the recipe with a few changes. I cut back on the cayenne, added some fresh green beans and used rosemary spice instead of fresh. I did use fresh Tarragon and it was exceptional. It is a must. I probably used too much of the chicken broth because I had to thicken it with additional flower before I added the chicken and herbs. I also did half of the biscuits with gluten free Bisquick. I try to eliminate wheat in all recipes. Even though there is flower the g-free Bisquick helps. I thought it was even better because the g-free biscuits sank into the chicken broth and seemed to absorb the spices and flavors. Outstanding!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
Excellent recipe. Will definitely make again. I sliced 4 medium potatoes into small jo jo sizes or large steak fry size. I only used 1/2 tspn of spice for all 4 potatoes and it was perfect. Also, I cooked on 400, turned once at 20 minutes and then cooked an additional 20. Family really liked them.

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2014
Not sure I can even rate this because I changed it quite a bit. I used ground turkey instead of chicken, Herdez salsa verde instead of tomatillos and I added another 12 ozs of chicken broth and an additional can of beans. I did add some corn starch to thicken it. Everything else was by the recipe except I cooked it on high for 3 hours in the crock pot. Turned out great and I would definitely make it again,

Simple Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2014
This was so simple and yet so great. My family and I loved it! I used chicken broth and half of a lager beer for liquid and I cooked it in the crock pot on high for about 4 hours. After cooking I sauteed mushrooms and onions and then added the shredded pork. Added some spices such as chili powder and cayenne. One of the best recipes I have found.

Chicken Tikka Masala

The recipe was excellent. I followed exactly as described however cut back on the jalapenos. Very good except very salty. Will cut way back on the salt next time. I would have rated 5 stars except for it being too salty.

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2014
I rated this recipe 5 stars however I made a few changes and added a couple of things. I'm sure someone will get angry because I didn't make it as described however that's the value of reading the reviews and customizing the recipe. I didn't use tomato soup or the onions. I cooked the ground beef just like the taco seasoning package suggested, then added 1 10 oz can of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilis, chopped up 10 fresh cherry tomatoes, chopped cilantro and corn. I tried to keep it mild for my children but flavorful for my wife and I. Also, I put a can of re-fried beans on the bottom of the baking dish followed by a layer of cheese. I put another layer of cheese on top, baked for 20 minutes and served with hot tortilla chips on top, lettuce, fresh tomatoes and olives. Both kids actually had two helpings. It tasted like an upside down tostada. Definitely added to the dinner rotation.
