About this Cook
I'm actually a pretty awful cook. When I went off to college I could make scrambled eggs and pancakes from a box. That was about it. I'm entirely self taught because my husband is a fantastic cook and won't tell me how he does anything!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with 6 ingredients or less, anything I can throw in a crockpot, most of Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals.
My cooking triumphs
The recipe on this site for Mango Berry Salad, which I totally copied from something I'd ordered at a restaurant. It was to die for so I tried to recreate it at home. I posted it on this site and to date 1400 people have saved it to their recipe box!
My cooking tragedies
In college I wanted to make a cake with two layers, so I bought two boxes of cake mix and poured it all into the same pan. It overflowed all over the oven, was burned around the edges, and raw in the middle. Yum!

Chesapeake Bay Pork Chops
I thought this was awful. The vinegar taste was overpowering, nowhere near enough Bay seasoning to make it really taste New England-y. Didn't like it at all.

Roasted Broccoli
This was inedible to me. It was ridiculously salty with only a pinch of salt added. I used twice as much broccoli as the recipe called for and the seasoning was still way too strong.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews
I felt it was too soy sauce-y as is so I added another tablespoon or two of butter. Otherwise I thought it was quite yummy.
