BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
The way i made this turned out excellent! I used approximately 5.5 lbs of pork ribs with the bone since i coulldn't find boneless. I made my own sauce from a Taste Of Home recipe i have for pork ribs. Plain bottled sauce seemed like it wouldn't taste good. The recipe i used for the sauce is: 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1/4 cup chili sauce 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp chopped onions 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp ground mustard 1 clove garlic, minced dash cayenne pepper Combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.

Beef Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
I've made this recipe 3 times now and each time i did it differently trying to make it better. This is what you do: Use steak-ums instead of beef. Don't put tomato sauce on top. I used flour tortillas. Who likes cooked sour cream? eww. Basically, follow the recipe for the meat and then roll up in flour tortillas. Then only put cheese on top (i used monterey jack/colby) and bake. Then on each person's serving, add sour cream, chopped green onions, chi chi's salsa... This tastes really good!

Came out grainy the first time I made it. Just be more careful and it's really good.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2014
This was okay, it wasn't the best jambalaya I've ever had. We cooked raw shrimp in butter and seasoning and then added it after the jambalaya was done so it wouldn't be overcooked. We also fried the sausage in olive oil before adding it to the slow cooker too.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2014
I'm not a vegetarian but we made these because we had all of the ingredients. We used 2 eggs instead of 1. Used only a pinch of cumin and chili powder. And we used 3/4 cup of breadcrumbs. We baked them 10 mins on each side. Served on a light colored wheat bread. I highly recommend this recipe.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
This is the best pot pie recipe. I've tried others in the past that were a disaster. This recipe does need adjusting as others have stated - it's a bit dry, but if more of the sauce base is added then it's really great. Also, as someone else suggested, the chicken does have to be cooked in chicken bouillon. We excluded the peas and added potatoes instead. We loved this recipe!

This recipe was excellent. I used red potatoes and red onions. For the ham, I baked a picnic ham and used the leftovers for this recipe.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
After looking at the suggested changes, we put some flour on the pork chops and browned them before baking. We also sauteed the onions and mushrooms. Turned out great. Will definitely make this again.

Citrus Swordfish With Citrus Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
This was the first time I've had swordfish. It wasn't fishy as expected, but I still didn't like it. This is probably not because of the recipe but more because I don't like fish. My mom's boyfriend loved it.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2014
This is really good if you use the regular cream of chicken soup and not the fat free. We also did the 1 can of chicken broth instead of the bouillon cube, and we didn't add salt and used less pepper.
