Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
This was very good, I omitted the olives and added skiced pepperoccinis (personal preference). I did not make the dressing, instead I used Kraft Parmesean Basil Vinagerette, it was very easy and tasted great!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Very good, I did bake it in a water bath and took the advice of others and microwaved the apples a little to get some of the liquid out. My only complaint was that I had to cook it abot 30 minutes more than the recipe stated.

Puttanesca I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
This was very good, I used anchovy paste instead of the fillets and omitted the olives at my husbands request. Next time I will add some chicken because my hubby couldn't believe there was no meat in the dish.

Cheese Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
The ratios are way off, this came out clumpy and gritty with very little flavor. Will not attempt again.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
This was easy, and that is the best thing about this recipe. I like others added potatoes, onions, carrots, and celery and I still felt like it was pretty blah. The chicken was extremely tender and was falling off the bones. If I made this again I would not just eat the chicken I would have to use the baked chicken in a different recipe that called for fully cooked chicken - just not enough flavor to eat as is.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Good as is, my 3 year old & my 1 year old enjoyed it. However, my husband and I found it a little lacking in flavor. I added parmesean cheese and a sprinkling of cayenne pepper and it really hit the spot. Next time I will add the parmesean to the cream sauce.

Glazed Fruit Bowl

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This was amazing! I used strawberries, raspberries, blackberies, manadarin oragnes, pineapple, and white grapes. I was a little hesitant with the pudding mix but it turned out so yummy! I will definately be making this again.

Texas-Style Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I have made this several times now and it is always a huge hit. Instead of ground beef I use about a 1/2 pound Jalapeno flavored sausage that I brown first in the skillet and about a 1/2 pound of bacon that I also precook just a little bit. I usually will just use a yellow onion because that is what I usually have on had. I found the key to this recipe is the BBQ sauce - you must use a good sauce, the beans depend on it, my husband and I really like Sweet Baby Rays.

Avocado Chicken Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
These were good. I cheated and used precooked and sliced chicken fajita meat and just diced it a little smaller. I used the salsa instead of BBQ sauce and I added black beans. Tasted really good but I had trouble keeping the rolls together - I squished them really close together on the plate so they held each other together until people started eating them and they all started to fall apart. I think I could have used more smashed avocado as a glue but I ran out.

Classic Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I tweaked this just a bit. Instead of 2 cans of black-eyed peas I used 1 can of black-eyed peas and 1 can of black beans (drained & rinsed). I substituted a can of Rotel tomatoes for the diced tomatoes and jalapenos and substituted red & green bell pepper for the yellow bell pepper. I used the exact amount of red wine vinager & oil called for and I found it to be a little on the vinagery side - you could probably cut back and still have great flavor.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
This was absolutely amazing! It tasted like a chocolate chip cheesecake. The only thing that I did different was I left off the pecans (only because I was serving it to picky eaters) and I rolled the cheeseball in crushed graham crakers and then decorated with leftover chocolate chips. I will definitely be making this again!
