Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I really liked these cookies (and so did everybody who ate them)! I wasn't sure how this recipe would come out if I scaled down the cookies, but they came out really well. I ran out of chocolate chips, and hacked up bars of baking chocolate. I love the combination of round chips and rougher chunks, and think I will do this again the next time I make these cookies. I used a teaspoon to measure out the cookies (after having allowed the dough to refrigerate overnight), and baked them for 10 - 12 minutes (just until the edges turned golden brown). They're soft (but not to the point of falling apart) and my coworkers finished a couple dozen in a few minutes (mailed the rest to friends). Next time I will double the recipe!

Brian's Easy Stuffed Flounder

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Awesome! I made this recipe with only crab, as I was doing stuffed shrimp. It was a huge hit in my house! I will say, though, that if you use regular stuffing, as opposed to reduced-sodium stuffing, you should definitely also use unsalted butter. I used regular stuffing and salted butter, and while the flavor was amazing, it was a saltier than I would have preferred. I think that next time that I make this (which is probably going to be tonight, once I get home from work, because I polished off the remaining stuffing this morning), at least one of the two sticks of butter I use will be unsalted. At some point, I will also add scallops to the mix.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
These are really good brownies. I made them once before, and they were a hit with my family and coworkers. This time I followed some suggestions made in other reviews. 1) I lowered the oven temperature to 325 degrees, since I was using a glass baking dish. 2) I combined milk chocolate with semi-sweet chocolate chips. 3) I used one cup each of white and brown sugar. I cannot imagine how sweet these would be with three cups of sugar. Ugh! 4) I didn't melt the butter beforehand. I just made sure that it and the eggs were at room temperature before I began mixing my ingredients. I highly recommend these brownies!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
I'm not even a fan of chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and I loved these. I made a batch of these and another of regular chocolate chip cookies, and these were so much better that although I started out with the same number of both kinds of cookies, my friends plowed through these much quicker. I am going to make myself another batch, and may or may not share! I didn't make any changes to the recipe, and had no problems at all. The dough seemed oddly sticky when I was getting ready to bake (after having chilled for a day), but they came out fine and rose beautifully.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
This is a really good recipe, and we loved our meal! If you like spicy food, I would suggest that you triple or quadruple the hot sauce, because the amount suggested in the recipe just did not do it for us! I would not count that as a detraction, since it was easily remedied, but it's something to keep in mind if you want your food to have more of a kick!
