Matcha Madness

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
I love that this recipe is so healthy! (I made mine even healthier by using unsweetened almond milk.) I was also attracted to this recipe because it doesn't require any ice cream/froyo, which I didn't have on hand. That being said.... the lack of frozen ingredients makes this shake pretty liquidy and flat - even if you use 6 ice cubes like I did. It's fine as a beverage, but nothing like the milkshake consistency I was hoping for. If you want a green tea milkshake/smoothie rather than a green tea drink, I think you do need to use ice cream or froyo. Alternatively, maybe you could make this drink, put it in an ice cube tray, and then blend the frozen cubes? I might try that next time. Also, I'd recommend adding some sweetener (not much - I just used 2 tsp agave nectar) to this recipe, unless you used sweetened milk of some kind.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
My favorite chocolate cookie recipe ever! It's amazing how rich and fudgy and chocolately it tastes - almost like a brownie. It's so moist, yet not at all greasy (and uses so little oil!) Also, if you take them out of the oven a bit early, they'll be like mini chocolate lava cakes - nice and softish-crunchy on the outside, but gooey and wonderful on the inside :).

Extra-Easy Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Fantastic! I'd never made lasagna before, but my fiance was really impressed with this. Sooo easy! My only caution is to allow *plenty* of time for the lasagna to cool before eating it. I let it stand for 30 min, and even then, it was just barely cool enough to eat!

Cake Mix Cookies VI

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Oh my goodness, this recipe is marvelous! The peanut flavor was extremely subtle, but the cookies tasted like wonderful, completely authentic, HOMEMADE chocolate chip cookies! They also came out looking beautiful. Other cake mix cookies I've tried come out too thin and flat or too fluffy and awkward-loo, but these had a beautiful color and were just the right texture and thickness. They looked like they came from a fine bakery. I did use soy butter instead of peanut butter (as I have friends with peanut allergies), but soy butter tastes just like peanut butter to me, so I don't think that made any difference. I also used mini chocolate chips because that's what I had on hand.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I made a half recipe and used it to fill an 8x8 pan - it was the perfect amount! I also used FF sour cream and only 1 cup of sugar (for the half recipe), as suggested by others. I used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar. Flavor of this bread was superb! I also added 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, and fiancee loved it. However, he mentioned that with 1/2 cup walnuts added as well, the bread would be PERFECT!! Will definitely add both next time!
