Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
I have made this a couple of times now. The first time I used the original recipe and it was delicious. I just tweaked it after that to my liking. I add extra spices and extra pumpkin. Also I used the crust recipe from the autumn cheesecake, it seemed to turn out a little better. Wonderful desert and it my dad requests me to make it for all of his staff functions.

Velvety Pumpkin Soup With Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
I haven't made this yet, but definitely going to try. But, where the spices are there is one called "pumpkin pie" spice. It is a combination of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. I use it all the time for anything using pumpkin.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I have been looking for a recipe to simulate the cinnamon scones we get from a bakery. This one worked out perfectly. All I did was replace the raisins with cinnamon chips. Also the ones we get has an icing on them. I made a vanilla icing from this recipe and on half of them drizzled the icing on top.

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
These were so good, my kids thought they were frosted cake donuts. I am however looking for suggestions on storing them. I put some in the fridge, and some I left out. The ones in the fridge stayed better, but after a couple of days they start getting sticky. Maybe they needed to cook longer???

Chocolate Chip Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly. The flavor was excellent, the only thing I wasn't fond of was that they were extremely crumbly. I will make these again, but I will have to add something(maybe applesauce) to give it some moisture.

Mashed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This is a really great way to use left over mashed potatoes. I thought it was a little bland as is so I did add some spices to suit our palates.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
I liked the flavor and ingredients in these muffins. Mine were just a tad crumbly. Not sure if that is something I did, but I will definitely make these again.

super good potatoes. I used red skin potatoes and left the skins on. I also used colby cheese for the top.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
this is an easy and fast dinner. I really liked the dill dip. I didn't have fresh dill so I just used the dry dill. My kids loved it and they were even dipping their rolls in it.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This is by far the best cheesecake I have made. I don't like really rich cheesecake. This was just delish. I did follow a couple suggestions and made an extra half of the filling. Also I cut the apples in small pieces, which made it easier to cut. I microwaved the apples for a minute and spooned the apples (w/o juice) on the cake. then I put the pecans into the apple juice and put the pecans on top. Thanks for a great recipe :)

Crab and Swiss Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This was excellent. My husband is a very picky eater, but for some reason he likes imitation crab. I did make the crust, i just like homemade pie crust. The only modification was that I added extra cheese. My husband ate half the pie and then asked for it again the next night:) It looks like this will be a staple in our house. ok so here is an update: I have made this many times since and do it a bit different now. I add half of an onion chopped finely as well as some cayenne pepper, and I use three eggs. Also i chop the crab because i don't like biting into huge chunks. I have also made it many times omitting the crust

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This is a great recipe, why did I never thing to add oatmeal to PB cookies. I doubled the oats, it keeps them from spreading out so much. Other than that I followed exactly. My tip and one i read from another review for a different recipe is to put a piece of bread in with the stored cookies. It keeps them from getting crumbly and they stay super soft.

White Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I have made this a few times now. Mine changes slightly, depending on what I have. Between processed cheese and the shredded brick cheese, I prefer the shredded. I also add quite a bit of red pepper flakes, we like things hot. This chili is filling and so easy to make.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I rated this four only because I made a few modifications. I added the seasonings to the mix as well as 1/4 cup melted butter. Then I used the recipe original butter and spice mix for on top... not the healthiest, but so delicious.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I have made this a couple of times now. The first time I followed exactly, then used an immersion blender and it was excellent. Now I use 2 1/2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. Also add a little extra cinnamon, a shake of all spice, and left out the cloves. Both ways were so good, i just tweaked it to my families taste.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I followed this recipe exactly and must say I was a little disappointed. The reviews were so good I was expecting a lot more. I found that I had to cook it an extra 7 minutes for the center to be done and by that time the edges were very dry. We cut into it for desert and i tried it with and w/o icing was just ok. I put the leftovers in the fridge and it did taste better cold the next day. I probably won't make this again.

Farmhouse Barbecue Muffins

These are really quick and easy. The kids and hubby eat them up. I have also found that I can use any size biscuits depending on what i have in the fridge (grands, etc.), the depth of the cup just varies.

Baked Pineapple Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This recipe is more of a sweet side, but very good. It would go excellent with ham or pork chops. Also would be good with a caramel or chocolate sauce and ice cream for desert.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
I make key lime pie all the time for family occasions because my in-laws love it. I just tried this recipe for the first time and it turned out fabulous. I also made homemade crust instead of store bought. update: Okay so I have made this a few times now...and I think it is too sweet. I love the consistency though. i think i am going back to my old recipe
