I'm 29 years old, I have a 4 year old daughter named Haylee. I'm a single mom, and I am going to college Majoring in Sociology/Gerontology, Minoring in Business Marketing.
My favorite things to cook
My daughter loves my Brussel Sprout Skillet. I make homemade Jams, Jellies, and Marmalades. But I really don't have a favorite. I love the look on someone's face when they try something I have made and it is really good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both of my Grandmothers cooked. My Mom cooks, and my Brother cooks. It's in the blood! My Mom started teaching me at the age of 10 and it just went from there. My Mom and I used to stay up until 2:00am cooking Christmas cookies. We were really silly toward the end. It was a lot of fun!
My cooking triumphs
A friend of mine is Lebanese. He told me about a salad his Grandmother used to make called Smead.(It's on the same basis of Tabbouleh), just from hearing what she put in it, I made it and he said that it tasted just like hers. My first batch of Jam!
My cooking tragedies
My second batch of Jam! No actually it was Apple Butter. But I've learned and I've gotten better!
