Apple Chicken Stir Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
I thought the original recipe was a bit bland so I added more apples. I also substituted the pea pods for frozen peas and added frozen corn. Much better with additional veggies/fruit.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
This recipe was great, my 1 year old who is going through the pick phase even ate it. I cooked closer to 2.5 cups of chicken and used frozen broccoli that I steamed. I also used Cream of Chicken soup. It worked out great. The only thing I had issue with was the bread crumb topping - it seemed to be too little and too paste-like. Next time I will either make more bread crumb topping or decrease the amount of butter mixed with the bread crumbs.

Best Yet Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This is a great recipe to start with. I made some modifications like other readers - no cinnamon, no bell pepper, drained the beans, and used frozen corn. I used a small amount of ground red cayenne pepper. My 1 year old loved it (don't worry I took his portions out before I kicked up the chili powder :). I will definitely make this again but have to do something to add some heat to my portion.

Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
This dish had a lot of flavor but in my case, the onion soup over powered the whole dish. It was still edible though. I followed the recipe exactly - no additions/omissions and my rice cooked as it should have. I have made several of these types of chicken casseroles and my rice always cooks this same way so I don't know what to say to help those who's rice won't cook. Sorry. If I make it again, I will either omit or decrease the amount of onion soup mix and add some frozen vegetables.

Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
This is a good recipe. I did modify it by using I can't believe it's not butter instead of regular butter, used whole wheat flour, added 1 tsp of Vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon. They taste good but seemed a bit cake like rather than cookie like so they didn't meet my expectations.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
I love this recipe. I will make it for myself for dinner and lunches when my husband is not home. Very quick and easy. The strongest flavor was from the ground turkey, the pumpkin was not noticable. I also made some changes to the recipe. I left the peppers out, added additional chili powder to taste and added a little italian seasoning. As the other reviews noted, this is a thick chili so I added 1/2 of a can of tomato sauce to thin it out. I then took the left overs to work the next day to test on my Aunt who liked it but said maybe she would have opted for ground chicken or beef rather than turkey. I cooked this for my husband who is a picky eater. He did not notice any flavor of pumpkin in it but, did not like it. I don't normally cook with ground turkey so I think that was his problem.

Lemon Rosemary Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
This is a very simple recipe that is great for introducing people to salmon. My husband was not a fan of fish in general prior to sampling this recipe. Now, he looks forward to me telling him salmon is for dinner.

Apple Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
I suppose it could have been me, but the stuffing was weird. I may have the courage to try again but I definately will have to think about what went wrong before doing so.

Ground Beef Curly Noodle

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
This was my second time with this recipe. I love it. I added an extra pack of noodles this time as other people have. Like others say if the picky husband eats it - it's a keeper. He may even request it.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
Like many other ladies, I have a very picky husband. When I told him I was making salmon, he krinkled his nose at the thought. After I cooked it, he loved it. I did not have fresh parsley so I used dried. Everything was great.

I had some yokes left from making a cake and made this with the leftover yokes. It was my first attempt and is very good.
