I love to cook. Surprise! If I am not cooking I am searching the web or watching foodnetwork for new ideas. I am a total Foodie.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Mexican, Indian, and Italian dishes. In Mexican I adore making enchiladas. They are just the best tasting simple dish that you can make. My Indian cooking is lacking and far from authentic. Indian techniques of cooking are very time consuming and can be complicated. I love the flavors and do try my best. Curries and masalas are the easiest to cook. Egg curry is my all time favorite. YUM!! Not healthy but delicious. In Italian cooking it is typically spaghetti that I make; but when I have time I love to make lasagnas. Tyler Florences' (from foodnetwork)Ultimate lasagna is one of the best that I have ever made or eaten.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My children and I have made salt dough ornaments for major holidays ever since they were just toddlers. They enjoy the big sticky mess and are very proud of their painted product. We can not eat them but they are nice to put on the Christmas tree or hang from a string.
My cooking triumphs
I baked and decorated 350 cupcakes in one day. I finally Mastered the Egg Curry.
My cooking tragedies
Cooking with lime. I made a brine for a whole chicken and put limes, oranges, garlic, and tons of spices. I thought it would be nice to cook the limes with the chicken. Big Mistake. It was the nastiest most bitter thing that any of us had ever tasted. We had sandwhiches that night. The dog was happy though.
