Polish Sausage Kraut Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Loved it! I used 98% fat free cream of celery because that's all I had on hand, beef broth instead of water and a healthy dash of A-1 Steaksauce with the onion soup mix and cooked it on low for about 6 hours.

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I am rating this a 4star because I think that the fat and calorie content is insane! It's a great soup that can be easily modified to be healthier. Trust me; you definitely don't need whole milk! I used 3 cups of skim milk and 3 cups of chicken broth, light sour cream, and a combination of light butter and olive oil and it still turned out ridiculously rich. I sauteed onions in the butter along with some diced celery at the start of the recipe to add a little depth and flavor. This really got rave reviews at my house and is worth the effort but you really don't have to clog an artery to enjoy this soup.

Corn Casserole

I made this recipe as one of my sides for Christmas dinner and am just getting around to rating it. It was tasty but a little disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This is a great recipe. To save time I used prepared spaghetti sauce. I also took the advise of some other reviews and soaked the noodles in warm water instead of boiling them. These easy subs make this dish delish and easy.

Cocktail Meatballs II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
I'm gonna give this a 5 star because its soooo easy - which is really important to me PLUS it really tastes GREAT. I used frozen meatballs, the jelly, chile sauce - added some worcheshire sauce and some mustard. Put it all in the slow cooker on high and in 3hours everything was done and delicious! Great recipe.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
This was a HUGE success. I made a few changes (of course). I used beef broth instead of water, and added a jar of sliced pepperoncini (including some of the juice). This made it a bit spicy. I then loaded some of the meat mixture into a hoagie roll, added provolone cheese and stuck it under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese and make the bread crusty. MMMMnnnn!!!!!!!

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
My whole family really enjoyed these burgers. This says a lot being that everyone is male and love meat!! I used lipton onion soup mix instead of chopped onions for ease, put the blue cheese right in the mixture and went heavy on the worsechire sauce. I didn't have any soy sauce so I just used my favorite pantry spices in it. I threw them on the George Foreman and they were wonderful on a toasted bun with all the usual burger toppings. Yum!

Chocolate Fudge Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This recipe was disappointing. It probably would've been better to just make the cake and add the frosting on top.

Bubba's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
I absolutely adore this recipe. It makes a ton of food which is great for me because I get two dinners instead of one out of it! I used a rotisserie chicken from my grocery store and pulled the meat off of it for the chicken.

Sauceless Garden Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
This is one of the best dishes that I've made from this site! My whole family loved it even the meat-loving, veggie-doubting men in the house. I didn't have tomatoes so I used some Ragu sauce and didn't have basil so I used Pesto sauce instead of the garlic, oil, basil and vinegar that the recipe calls for. It was easier and cheaper for me to use what I had on hand it turned out great. I would highly recommend this.

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
This gets five stars because it so EASY and really tasty as well. I used chicken breast on the bone because its cheaper and then shredded the meat just before serving. I took the advise from others and used garlic to season the breasts and also added a packet of onion soup mix. I served it over eggnoodles but really feel it work well with rice or biscuits or even toast. My four year old who is pretty picky LOVED it which is a huge bonus!

Curry Chicken Salad

Delicious! I eye-balled the ingredients and didn't follow the recipe exactly. I added some slivered onions and grapes and even my husband liked it! I used a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket.

We really enjoyed this recipe. It's a very hearty soup. My only complaint is that it is very thick. My husband liked it that way but it kinda turned me off.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2007
After much deliberation my DH and I have decided to give this a 5star. It's very tasy but the ease of the recipe pushes it into the top notch. I used half mayo (light) and half sour cream (light) and it was PLENTY creamy and rich enough. I'll most definitely add this to the rotation!

Crawfish Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
We were pretty impressed with this recipe. I agree that it is restaurant quality! The only change that I made is I cut back on the butter (and used light) and I also added about a can of diced tomatoes because I just love tomatoes with everything! We enjoyed it very much!

Pork Chop and Feta Skillet

I really enjoyed this recipe. I think that next time I will buy a pork loin and slide it into medallions and proceed with the recipe. I didn't change a thing and wouldn't - it's delicious as is.

Potato Pork Skillet

I thought this was a great meal. I changed it up a bit and added mixed vegetables and it turned out as a skillet stew. I cut down on the butter as well. I would recommend this; the left overs are great as well.
