Chocolate Scotcheroos

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
I've been making these for years! The only change we have is at LEAST 1 1/2 cups peanut butter! Closer to 2 cups for a better bar...YUM! I send these with my husband to EVERY guys night and they are requested EVERY time! ;)

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
yeah, this bread was a total flop...literally! It didn't rise right, there was no way it could have been used as bowls...but I figured "use them just as bread"...it was way to bland, even my bread devouring 8 year old didn't like it at all! Will find a different recipe for next time!

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
This is the same recipe my husband's grandma uses...and all the cake makers behind her ;). The only difference is her recipe only uses 2 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp vanilla and back it for 40-50 minutes at 350. This recipe is fanastic! Rich and delicious! Use a fudge frosting and it's to die for!

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
I brought this to a moms club meeting and it was gone SERIOUSLY within 5 minutes! Everyone wanted more. I put broccoli, green onions, carrots, mushrooms and cucumber on it. I'm making two more today for a birthday party.

Easy Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This chicken turned out soggy for me. I cooked it for way over the recommended time to try to get the breading at least a tiny bit crunchy...never happened...the chicken turned out really chewy and stringy and the breading soggy...won't try again.

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I like this and my husband likes it but the kids won't touch it with a ten foot pole! HA HA. And they normally love anything with eggs in it! Oh well...will be saved for late night dinners or late breakfasts after the kids are off to school!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I had such high hopes for this bread. The first time I made it I followed the directions EXACTLY and it turned out to be a wet soggy almost-burnt brick...but I really wanted it to work so I went out and bought ALL NEW ingredients, thinking that may have been it (not that any of my ingredients are that old)...but nope happened again!

Amish Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This was good bread. The first time I made it it was way to sweet for my tastes, the kids liked it but wasn't a favorite. But I tried it again and cut the sugar down to about a Tablespoon and it was MUCH better! Great with some cream cheese spread on or made into french toast!

Italian Bread Baked on a Pizza Stone

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This was a great bread recipe, so easy! I let it rise on the pizza stone and baked it a few minutes longer and it worked perfectly. I used 1 cup of whole wheat flour because I ran out of regular...still great. Used the leftovers the next night for french toast, fantastic!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This french toast was "Mm...Mm...Mm...DEEEE-LICIOUS!" In the words of my very picky eater 3 1/2 year old daughter! She was convinced we weren't having dinner, we were having dessert! SO easy and SO good. I used a leftover homemade bread from the day before and it was great! I think this will be the recipe I use from now on. Served with bacon, sausage and fresh fruit...perfect easy meal for any time of the day!

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I love this monkey bread! I've used this recipe a few times and I always use loaf pans rather than a round one and put one can of biscuits in each pan...I do this so nuts can be added to one (the kids don't like the nuts) and left out of the other. This morning I'm making just one loaf, one can of biscuits, half the sugar/pudding mixture and a loaf pan...saving the other half of the sugar mixture for next weekends breakfast! YUM!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
I have made this about 15 times already...in about two weeks! Everyone just loves it! I started making it just how the recipe states, until I ran out of Bread flour (I went through a bag and a half making this bread so many times!) After the Bread flour was gone I tried it with whole wheat (2 tbls wheat gluton and enough wheat flour to make as recipe states) and I used all-purpose (also adding wheat gluton). All of them are delicious and have never actually cooled in my house...they are all eaten so fast they don't get a chance to get to room temperature!

Broccoli-Chicken Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
This is pretty good for an easy family dinner...I'm not sure I would serve it at a shower or for company. But it's a great easy dinner for a weeknight, especially since I cooked the chicken on the weekend, chopped it and froze it. I halfed the recipe for our family of four and it was plenty (2 adults, an 8 year old and a 3 year old). Might be nice with tuna rather than chicken too...may be worth a try some rainy afternoon! Will make again because it was SOOOOO easy with so little mess.

Garlic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
I normally HATE deviled eggs but these I can actually eat. My husband LOVES them and requests them all the time. I have taken them to playgroups and they are ALWAYS gone within minutes no matter how many I bring!

Bloomin' Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This tasted ok but the noodles really dried out on the top edge of the pasta. The kids thought it was "fun" but when it came down to it didn't eat it very well because of the funny, hard to eat shape. I think I'll make it again...BUT...in "normal" lasagna form.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
I have only made drop biscuits with this recipe...with two small kids who has time to roll the dough out? I have used all whole wheat flour and just as the recipe states and both are really good. My husband and son could eat these all day and they taste like I spent hours on them when they only take about 5 minutes to toss together!

Meatball Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
I made my own meatballs (1 pound lean hamburger, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, oregano and cilanto, rolled into balls and baked at 350 for about 30 minutes, then freeze) This stew went over really well with the kids. The only change I made was I used regular carrots cut into coins, my kids won't touch cooked baby carrots. Add some Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits from this site and you have a tasty easy meal!
