About this Cook
I work full time during the week and love to spend my weekends baking and planing out new meal ideas.
My favorite things to cook
Anything sweet! I started to get into cooking a few years ago by making homemade candies for people around the holidays. Since then I've branched out and I like to cook anything that brings a smile to my husband's face.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year I like to invite my family and my husband's family over to our house right around Christmas time to see all the festive decorations. We always pop a bottle of champagne, and I serve up some delicious hors d'oeuvres.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph is when I finally learned how to make homemade sandwich bread from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
One time I tried to make mayonnaise from scratch on a very hot day. The air conditioner was broken, and the kitchen was vary warm, so when I blended up the ingredients it just turned into a gloppy gross mess.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake
I made this recipe for Mother's Day, and it was a huge hit! I followed the advice of other reviewers and I did not add the cream of tartar and I decreased the baking powder to 3 tsp. I will definitely make this recipe again!

Perfectly Moist Irish Wheaten Bread
This recipe is definitely a keeper! Like some reviewers suggested, I only used 2 Tbsp butter and I reduced to oil to 1/8 cup. I brushed the top of the bread with the buttermilk but I did not sprinkle it with sugar. The bread turned out perfect!

Beef Curry Soup
My husband and I loved this recipe. I took the advice of other reviewers and I coated the beef in flour before browning. I also added carrots to the pot. Lastly, I added cornstarch to help thicken up the liquid. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
