About this Cook
I love cooking for friends and family (and myself). I'm also a fan of baking... I just have to make sure to share the results, due to my sweet tooth :)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking healthy meals with fruits and veggies. I stopped eating meat in 2008 and haven't looked back, and I'm always trying new recipes. On the flip side, cookies and other desserts are also fun!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is an awesome cook and always made sure we had dinner together. Now we share recipes and ideas for the kitchen all the time.
My cooking triumphs
I've figured out some solid vegetarian meals on my own and with the help of this website and some great cookbooks!
My cooking tragedies
I tried making fortune cookies with a friend in junior high, and they turned into icky, floppy, overly-almond-flavored flapjacks that wouldn't solidify into fortune cookies... I think I'll leave that recipe to the professionals.

Easy Vegetarian Spinach Lasagna
This turned out well and was easy to make. My only criticism was that it was kind of flat - the filling didn't take up much space between the noodle layers and it was a little bit bland. I used a 9X9 pan as recommended by some other reviewers. Overall though it was tasty.

Kale and Banana Smoothie
Interesting! I used regular milk and added 2 tablespoons of powdered peanut butter because I didn't have any flaxseed. I don't think I would have liked it without the PB. I blended the heck out of the kale and couldn't really taste it, but then afterwards I had a weird aftertaste.
