About this Cook
I live in Atlanta with my boyfriend and his two sons. Learing to cook for a family of four has been challenging and loads of fun. This site has been invaluable to me -- especially the recipe reviews. I've been cooking for about three years, 'family style' for the past year or so. I love cooking and love trying new recipes. I browse this site several times weekly for new ideas!
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new recipes, but I love cooking Italian dishes and Southern Style dishes. I was born and raised in Atlanta. I love making desserts, but don't very often!
My cooking triumphs
My boyfriend would say my Traditional Two Crust Peach Pie. The boys would say Aimee's Quick Chicken. I say my homemade sauce!
My cooking tragedies
Ha ha. Several in the past few months, most recently a Tarragon Braised Chicken recipe -- NOT from All Recipes.com. I once made a Key Lime Pie that could only be served in a glass -- just would not set up!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
Awesome! My boyfriend made this for my 40th birthday this weekend and it was a huge hit with everyone. We followed the recipe exactly and soaked the cake overnight before frosting. This cake was perfect and at least five people have emailed me for the recipe. I use all recipes constantly and this is one of the very best recipes I've ever found on this site. Simply amazing.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup
Just had a bowl at work for lunch -- delicious! I read all reviews and made the following changes: Used 6 cans reg chicken broth, 6 cans low sodium. Brought it all to a boil and added 1 cup each chopped onion, celery and carrots. Added noodles, 2 bay leaves, 1 clove chopped garlic, fresh black pepper and oregano. Added an ENTIRE rotissierie chicken and covered. Simmered fifteen minutes and then took chicken out, removed meat and put back in pot. Simmered thirty more minutes. I'm taking it to a sick friend today -- it does make a TON so next time will freeze some for this winter. I'm usually not one to change recipes, but followed other's advice and it turned out great -- not too salty as so many posters have noted. The key is using half low sodium chicken broth.

Grilled Chicken and Potato Foil Packs
We made this last night -- first time I've cooked an unreviewed recipe. I gave this four stars for flavor, but think if I made it again I would double the seasoning. The packets were good, but not quite seasoned enough. Great flavor and our boys appreciated how eas it was to clean up!
