Absolutely delicious!! Very easy to make too! I only made 2 changes. I used 4 large apples and added a little cinnamon to the topping. Topped it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Will definitely make again!!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
These burgers are the bomb! The only changes I made were I used 1 1/4 lbs of ground chuck and 1/2 egg. I used Sweet Italian buns. Definitely keep a spray bottle of water handy while grilling...you will have flare ups for sure!! I added a slice of American cheese right before pulling them off the grill. The onion flavor in the burgers is amazing!! Just had one left over and it too was awesome! This recipe is definitely a keeper!! Thanks Jan!

Bacon Risotto

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
WOW!!! That's all I can say about this recipe!!! This is my first time making risotto and it was amazing! I used canned chicken broth for stock and the "cheaper" arborio rice, other than that I followed recipe exactly and wouldn't change a thing! If you've never had risotto, I would recommend this one! It is definately a keeper, and I will be fixing it again real soon!!

Chicken Spaghetti II

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I'm giving this 5 stars even though I made some changes because I had to use what I had on hand. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of chicken and I used a can of stewed tomatoes (jalapeno, cumin and garlic flavor), undrained and chopped up the tomatoes, instead of the diced tomatoes with green chile. I also cut back on the cheese to about 1/2 lb and I used about 1/3 mexican velveeta and 2/3-2% velveeta. I didn't add garlic because the tomatoes had garlic in them. This was WONDERFUL!! I had my doubts about it when I was cooking it because I've never had anything like it, but boy, was I wrong! My whole family loved it, including my picky 14 year old! I told them next time I could try it the way it was written and they told me not to change a thing because it was great the way I fixed it! This one is definately a keeper and very easy too! I also think this would be good without the chicken.

Hot Buffalo Chicken, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
This is the most amazing sandwich I have ever eaten! Absolutely delicious!! The only changes I made was to double the buffalo sauce (I used Red Hot), and I grilled the chicken seasoned with Morton's Nature's Seasonings. I didn't actually shred the chicken just pulled it apart with my fingers in small pieces. Do not omit the roasted peppers..they give it a wonderful flavor! I wrapped the sandwich up in aluminum foil and cooked on the grill over indirect heat at around 300 degrees for about 25 minutes. I posted a picture of the one I fixed. I can't wait to fix this again!!! Thanks so much for the recipe!!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
This chicken is absolutely wonderful! The only change I made was to put an onion or potato in the neck of the chicken to hold in some moisture. Another delicious addition to the chicken is to cook it in a foil roasting pan, cut up potatoes and onions and place around the chicken and let them cook in the juices that run off the chicken. Stir occasionally. Add a little butter salt and pepper to the potatoes and onions and....man oh man.....delicious!!!! We cooked it on a gas grill over indirect heat. Having it again this weekend and can't wait!!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
These were really good! I made 8 lbs of wings for New Years Eve, and everybody loved them! I cut back on the cayenne pepper because I was afraid they may be too spicy, but next time I will put what the recipe calls for because they could have used a little more spice. I may also try adding a little more hot sauce and a little less butter to spice them up some. Thanks for the recipe! Also, as one person stated, someone needs to change the recipe entry because it states to heat the oil and then to put the wings in the refrigerator for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. A little mixed up I'd say!!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Amazing doesn't even describe how wonderful this is!! My whole family absolutely loves this! I've fixed it several times using thick sliced pork tenderloin or a pork roast and either way it is great! I use lite soy sauce and red cooking wine. It is delicious with the Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes recipe from this site! I did use regular Idaho potatoes instead of red potatoes, but the combination of these 2 recipes is immaculate! Use the au jus from the meat over the potatoes, and be prepared for a mouth watering experience!

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This was really good! I did make a few changes. I doubled the recipe and made 2 loaves. I used fresh sweet potatoes from the garden. I boiled them with the skin on and then removed the skin when they were done. I used cinnamon applesauce instead of the oil to cut down on the fat. I also used walnuts instead of pecans, and added about 1 cup of raisins. Really good, and a good way to use the abundance of sweet potatoes I had from the garden!

1-Dish Pepperoni Cheese Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This was really good! My husband and kids loved it. I did make a couple of changes. I doubled the recipe to make 2 because I didn't know if one would be enough for the four of us. We ended up with 1/2 of one left over which my husband took for lunch the next day. I only used 1 cup of reduced fat cheese on each one and I used turkey pepperoni to cut back on some fat. I added 1/2 lb of cooked sausage to each one. This would be good with any of your favorite pizza toppings. Next time I'm going to add ham and banana peppers. The kids are wanting me to fix this again next week! Yummy!

V-Eight Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
Definately a good base for soup. I used extra lean ground beef instead of hamburger. I cooked some onion with the ground beef, drained, and put in crockpot. I added remaining ingredients, and also added a can of beef broth, a can of petite diced tomatoes, and a pkg of onion soup mix. I let it cook for about 8 hrs on medium heat. My husband and I ate it for lunch for 3 days, and there was still enough left over to freeze for later.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
Very good, and quick! I did make some changes. I used ground chuck, instead of ground beef, and added onion and garlic powder while cooking. I couldn't stand the thought of adding the flour to the hamburger grease (too fattening), so I drained the grease, and added about a cup of water before adding the flour. I also used 2 bouillon cubes, instead of 1, and added a can of low fat cream of mushroom soup. Served over No Yolk egg noodles. Yummy!

Quesadillas II

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
Very good recipe...husband and kids loved it! I did make some changes. I sauteed the onions in fat free butter and added some garlic powder, salt and pepper while cooking. I used 1 1/2 lbs. chicken, and added some garlic powder and cumin to the chicken while it was cooking, added the onions to the chicken when it was done, along with other ingredients, and a little extra salsa. I also put the cheese in after all was heated and let it melt before putting in the flour tortillas. I only filled 6 tortilla shells instead of 10, so they were very filling. Topped with sour cream and salsa. Even my picky 10 year old asked for seconds!
