Crackle Top Molasses Cookies

This is an awesome recipe. You can use whole wheat flour instead and it really doesn't impact the taste (I've tried both ways).

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
Followed Gourmet Mommy's changes. Made 2 batches back to back. I did not double the dough part as some recommend and it filled (thinly) a 9 x 13 glass pan lined with parchment paper. Forgot to add flour to the lemon-egg part in the first batch. Thought that turned out much better than the lemon part in the second batch with the flour. In the second batch, I substituted canola oil for margarine/butter (more healthy). Ended up adding an extra 1/2 cup of flour to compensate. Preferred that crust to the first batch I made. All in all I LOVED these bars. Pretty fattening, but a great, refreshing summer treat. Oh, also, I froze these immediately after I made them (after I tasted them). It had no impact on the taste. I added the powdered sugar after they'd properly defrosted and prior to serving.

I LOVE this recipe. SOO good. And you can substitute veggies a little bit in it, too.

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
I really LIKE these! It's not so much that they are the most sinful thing you've ever tasted, it's that they're quite good, really low fat, and literally addictive. I made mine using whole wheat flour, craisins instead of raisins (eyew rasins) and diced apple instead of walnuts. I also used splenda instead of sugar. Since I live in Israel, I couldn't find canned pumpkin. So I decided to go to the store to make my own. Apparently pumpkin is the word they use to mean butternut squash, so I steamed and mashed butternut squash with some pumpkin pie type spices and a dash of salt. I got about 24 little muffins (they don't really rise). My boyfriend said they are cute, but that they're not really his "type" of thing, but he went back for seconds, so who know. I'll make these again. You kind of have to work to chew them, but that's cause they're dense. I like them! Thanks for the recipe!!!!

Henry and Maudie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
Very simple and EVERYONE loves them!! A GREAT recipe, thanks! An addition: I've found that if you add half whole oats and half quaker quickie oats, the cookies are much tastier.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
THIS IS AWESOME. Boyfriend and I couldn't believe it! I modified the recipe based on other people's comments. Everyone was saying to add Montreal Steak Seasoning, which I didn't have. So I looked it up and it's basically comprised of pepper, salt, and paprica. For the rub i combined 1 Tbsp each of kosher salt, crushed peppercorns (i crushed), and paprika. I also added about 1 tsp. of garlic powder. This I rubbed on the meat and sprayed a little olive oil over top. To the pot, i added 3 large chopped carrots, six or so small red potatoes (chopped), an onion, and half a container of small fresh mushrooms. Additionally, I added 2 bay leaves, about a tsp. of worshire sauce, and the onion soup mix along with the water. Didn't have celery. SUPER SPICE-A-RIFIC!!! Enjoy!
