About this Cook
I sell life insurance and love to cook new dishes for my husband. I seldom cook the same thing twice. I am always experimenting with flavor.
My favorite things to cook
Italian dishes and baked goods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always did a lot of baking when we were kids. She would bake bread and deliver it to people in our church. Now I am carrying on her tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I have modified many baked goods recipes to my husband's liking. He is a rather picky eater, so I am constantly changing the way I make things according to what he DOESN'T like about a dessert. It is difficult to find a dessert he likes. He isn't big on sweets, so finding things he eats in a few days is a real triumph for me!
My cooking tragedies
One time when I was 19 years old, I was making eggplant parmigiana and I accidently dumped half of a bottle of rosemary in the pot. I scraped as much of it out as I could, but it still tasted too strong of rosemary. Another time was when I was 10 years old, I thought I would be nice and bake some biscuits for my mom while she was away. I used baking soda instead of baking powder. They were hard and tasted salty. They were HORRIBLE! We wound up throwing away the whole batch.

Italian Style Flounder
This was okay. My hubby gave me a thumbs-down, however because he said it didn't take the strong fishy taste away. I added more lemon juice and he said it was better.

Easy Scalloped Potatoes
Pretty good, only I would use quite so many potatoes for a 2 quart casserole dish...too many.I did 2 layers and it was excellent!
