These were a big hit as an appetizer. I made two batches, each using 2 1/2 links of Johnsonville Sweet Italian sausage, casings removed. For the first, only sausage was used, I forgot about the chives. The second had 1/2 cup of sharp cheddar and a big pinch of red pepper flakes. Both were delicious, but I heard more comments about the one with "the kick!" I made 2 "loaves" early in the day, wrapped both in foil and refrigerated before cutting. Cooking time took 20 minutes. Also, I was able to cut each roll into more than 12 pieces. The hardest thing about this recipe is getting the dough out of the can without mutilating it!!
