Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
Loved this recipe. I did 3/4 cup of Marsala and omitted the sherry. I made this in a cast iron skillet, adding twice the mushrooms and a bit of heavy cream at the end. I served this over pasta... My very picky child loved it. My husband loved it. And I loved it. This tastes so good, it's perfect for special occasions, and so easy you can make it on the fly, and make a boring day special!

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
Wonderful! Per another cook's suggestion, I added a can of stewed tomatoes. It was hearty and pairs well with red wine and sourdough or French bread. I have also eaten it with pita, and this, I think, is my favorite.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I made this for thanksgiving and topped it with a vanilla glaze. My guests loved it; it's very rich and dense. The next time, I'll add a flavor, perhaps a bit of lemon or orange zest. It's delicious and is excellent fare for a special occasion.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This is really great! Don't use diet soda, make sure you get a good quality root beer made with real sugar. I used a can from Whole Foods. You really can't go wrong with this recipe. I made it exactly as described, except I added some seasonings like pepper. Very delicious.

I found this recipe flavorful and delicious; however, I substituted green bell peppers instead of the celery. It was fantastic! Good slow cooker recipe!

I make these at Christmas every year. They are always a hit! Use a spoon to coat the truffles, and definitely chill them first.

Ibby's Grasshopper Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Made the recipe exactly as originally written. The only thing I added: before freezing, I pushed whole Oreos into the top and made a pretty design. I just wanted to use the extra cookies left over from the crust...and I think it did a nice job of adding a bit more chocolate flavor.

Chocolate, Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I made this twice. The first time,I followed the directions here, exactly; however, the outside was a bit overdone. The second time, I reduced the heat to 325 degrees halfway through. Baked 15 min extra. Be careful not to over-bake. Topped both times with Smuckers chocolate hot fudge ice cream topping, and large candy sprinkles for color. Everyone LOVED this.

Antipasto Platter

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
Made this for a BIG party! Took a while to get all the ingredients at the deli and people were rather surprised at the huge platter of meat and cheese, but everyone loved it. Only downfall is, if you get all the ingredients in the proper quantity and high quality as per the recipe, it does get rather expensive.

JELL-O® Pastel Cookies

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
Mixed these by hand, as per another reviewer's suggestion to avoid flat cookies, but they baked incredibly flat anyway. I was so excited to make these, but I am very disappointed. I could barely scrape them off of my (air-bake) cookie sheets. So Sad!
