Make-Ahead Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
DS was having a friend over today and they both had requested coffee cake. I don't make many, so I hit allrecipes... found this recipe, read the reviews and whipped it together last night. Baked it this morning. I will say, it was absolutely lovely! Light and airy. I will say it took much longer to bake than the recipe stated, but that could be our altitude. I think it is a fabulous base for making many different, tasty versions and no one will know it is all the same base recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Jalapeno Popper Wontons

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
This was quick and simple and TASTY! The second time, I was pressed for time, so rather than mess with cooking oil I used puff pastry sheets cut into squares, brushed with butter and baked! Just as good and when in a hurry, far less time and mess!

Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb Rub

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2012
Did this for Father's Day this year and it was fabulous! Followed the recipe exactly for the ingredients, but did the entire thing on the grill like a steak and it was enjoyed by all!

Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Made these roll for the first time for our family Thanksgiving dinner. I read - and I mean read all of the reviews, adjusted the sugar to 1/2 cup, increased the salt to 2 tsp, added the egg wash five minutes before the end of baking time and then brushed with melted butter before serving - followed the rest of the directions exactly. I felt the dough was a perfect consistency - not too soft or runny. They were perfect! My entire family loved them and we were only left with three rolls once everyone had packed their care packages of leftovers. We put those into a zip lock bag and warmed them in a 350 degree oven wrapped in foil three nights later. Can't say there were any complaints! And it was the first time I've ever made bread products outside of a bread machine! Don't know what those who gave a bad review did incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure it was user error!

My family loves this - although, I've modified it to use puff pastry sheets reather than french bread. My sister in law has asked that I make this as her birthday present. Made two for a family birthday party and couldn't get folks to walk away from the platter until it was gone!
