Just me
About this Cook
I'm always inspired to cook when there is something new and different to cook. I always wanted to get recipes from a recipe book and try them out, but never really got around to it. I also was very lazy and enjoyed when people cooked for me, lol. Now, finding new things to cook is very interesting.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta dishes mostly. I also love dessert food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's okra and shrip combo was always amazing. I also loved her stew with various meats and potatoes. She is also good at italian dishes.
My cooking triumphs
Trying something new and letting everyone know I really can cook.
My cooking tragedies
I don't think I have any cooking tragedies. Just placing the pot on the wrong burner and making the apartment full of smoke and steam.

Feta Shrimp Pasta
I viewed this recipe about an hour ago, and I tried it. I substituted the feta cheese for velveeta cheese because I'm saving the feta for something else. I also added a little bit of pesto sauce from a jar. Needless to say, I enjoyed it. Very simple recipe, and I WILL try it again.

Yummy Pecan Pralines
Because I was so used to making peanut butter candy, it was really hard to tell when this candy was ready. i was familiar with the whole water dropping thing, but it didn't work out so well. so, i used good judgment and took it out when i thought it was ready. for this recipe, i think i would have cut back on the pecans. it seems as though the pecans almost over took the candy. other than that, the taste was awesome, and i would definitely make it again with fewer pecans. maybe a 1/4 cup less. anyways, thanks for this recipe. :-)))
