Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2013
I didn't believe this recipe would be any different than my previous favourite banana bread recipe. I was very wrong. This recipe is perfectly balanced. It is light, tasty, and by far the best banana bread I've ever made. I made a few changes but I am sure it would be just as good without them. I substituted greek yogurt for sour cream, added a 1/8 tsp of cloves and a 1/4 tsp of baking powder. I added the powder because I prefer a less dense bread. I regret not trying this recipe years ago... so just go ahead and make it and enjoy. Thanks for the great recipe!

Maple Glazed Ribs

Thank you for an excellent glaze. I loved it, as did my picky husband. We enjoyed the maple flavour. I just wish pure maple syrup was a bit cheaper!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: May 26, 2007
Excellent rub. I eliminated the cayenne pepper and reduced the salt and it was still perfect.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2007
Excellent - a nice variation for roasting potatoes. I don't always have all the spices but it still tastes great if you leave one or two out. Thanks for a great recipe that my picky husband even loves!

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
This recipe is superb. I use the same ingredients except I substitute maple syrup or honey for the sugar. I usually double the marinade and soak my beef for 30 minutes. To thicken it, I use a bit of water and corn starch mixed together and add it right before the vegetables are ready. When done, I top with sesame seeds.

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
Excellent. My new favourite pork recipe. I love the sweetness of the sauce mixed with the pork. I have made this recipe without the apple juice and substituting pomegranate juice, blueberry juice... whatever I had in the fridge at the time. However, draining the pork after cooking is essential to get the apple butter mixture to set properly. Thanks for the great recipe. It's been added to my list of favourites.

Chicken Caesar Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
Excellent. This has become my most requested recipe when I attend family gatherings. I use Renee's caesar salad dressing with half a cup of parmesan added to it. I add garlic to the chicken while it is cooking. As well, if you don't mix the dressing in, this salad can keep for a few days in the fridge. Thanks for the new twist on an old classic.

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
Excellent. I personalized this recipe by adding an egg to help firm it up when it bakes and I use either tomato sauce or alfredo sauce or a mixture. Since it can be a bit tricky getting the mix into the noodle, I use a pastry bag or plastic baggy with the corner cut out to fill them. I have added this to my list of favourites. My picky husband even liked this new dish. Thanks for the great recipe!
