Dry Buttermilk Ranch Mix
I love this recipe. Was trying to find a store bought packet with no MSG but it's nearly impossible and still doesn't have as good a flavor as this one. It costs a little bit to buy all of the spices for the first time you use it but the investment is well worth the money. I use it primarily with the slow cooker buffalo chicken recipe on this site and it makes for a winning combo.

Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce
Color me impressed. This was my first effort at Indian food and it was SOOOOO delicious. I made the recipe exactly as directed with the exception of switching out the heavy cream for low fat Kefir. Other than not thickening up too well with the substitution of the Kefir, I thought that it was absolutely delicious. I added some corn starch at the end to help thicken it. It definitely was spicy but the bite was great. About what you would get if you went to a restaurant and ordered somewhere between a medium and a hot spicy level. Enough to make you know that you had something spicy but not so much that your mouth burns for an hour after it. I did put the whole thing in the crock pot and let it simmer for an hour or two once I added the chicken just to let the flavors meld. Served it over lime and cilantro rice and with the Chickpea Curry recipe by Aminah at this site. Was the best meal ever. No need to go out for Indian any more if I can just learn how to make naan.

Chickpea Curry
This was great! I used canned chick peas and included the water from the can in the recipe. I may use veggie or chicken broth next time. Used 1 teaspoon of cinnamon as I did not have the sticks. Cut the cloves down to 4 as I don't really like them and cut the cayenne pepper to 1/2 teaspoon because I'm a wimp. I didn't use quite as much cilantro and used dried as that was all I had on hand. The flavor that resulted was wonderful meld of a sweet cinnamon start with a peppery bite at the end. My husband, who specifically hates chick peas, was savoring these one by one. I served it with the Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala and chipotle lime rice here on the site. Possibly the best dinner that I have ever made.
