Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
With so many great & rave reviews I thought I had found a treasure. Boy was I wrong. It was too sweet for my 5 year old daughter's tea party guests. Will not use this again. They just ate the fruit without the dip!

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2014
My daughter doesn't like raisins so I had to omit them. I baked mini muffins for her 1st grade class. I baked them for 17 min. at 350 and lightly glazed them. THEY LOVED them! GLAZE: 1 tsp light corn syrup, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, 11/4 cup powder sugar, 2Tblspn milk. I will be baking a batch for our Thankgiving gathering this year. These are so good!!!!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
I don't like subjective words in a recipe. Thinly sliced- I had no idea how thin that should be so I slivered it. That was a lesson learned. I tried to "sweat" the slivers but that was insane. LOL. I should have peeled the eggplant but my mom always used the the skin in her dishes. A LOT of work, part of it my fault. In the end, it looked and smelled so good and my husband and I liked it. Only 2 of our 3 children ate it. I will try this again because it was good but next time, I WILL FOLLOW THE RECIPE, skip the sea salt recommendation (just peel the eggplant), cut the slices ~1/4 in. thick, and only use 2 smaller eggplants (3 was too much). Thanks for the recipe.

Scalloped Corn and Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2007
This was super easy to make. I omitted the salt and sugar, used freshly steamed broccolli, and medium cheddar cheese. Very good. A KEEPER RECIPE FOR US.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
I found this recipe in the Summer of 2011. My daughter and I baked one different pie each week that summer. This is THE ONLY recipe we use for all our pie baking. It comes out PERFECT everytime. I do not roll it out. For us, it's so much easier to just spread it out in the pie dish itself. Happy baking!!!!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
These taste Delicious and come out so tender soft. I always get compliments when I bake them. I use butter instead of margarine and use a 9x11 baking dish instead of muffins cups. ***I make sure the butter is squishy soft now because my arm about fell off with shoulder attached when it's not. LOL*** Plus, I use the inside of the butter wrapper to butter the baking dish. I prepare the recipe and place it in the baking dish, cover dish with Saran wrap, and let it sit out on dining room table overnight. In the morning: I preheat oven, remove Saran wrap, and bake them. PERFECT every time.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I knew I wanted to have shrimp for dinner but had no idea what to do. I always refer to all recipes for last minute ideas. I came across this recipe with I ngredient search: shrimp and cream cheese. After reading a few reviews, Getting the sauce right is what matters most. I used shrimp and red bell peppers since I didn't have mushrooms on hand. My husband, 8 and 11 y.o. kids, and I LOVED it!! Thanks for sharing.

Roasted Spicy Salsa Verde

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I just had to update to mention that my husband, whom initially spit out the salsa when he tried it as dip, ate my tamales that I made using this green salsa recipe. They were so good. Thanks again for this recipe. I no longer buy canned.
