World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
I finally had the opportunity to try this recipe. I wanted to see for myself if this was really the Worlds Best Lasagna. I am not a big Lasagna critic but this was AWESOME. The sauce was so good. I loved it. Followed the recipe to a T. Will use this sauce recipe from here on out. REALLY good lasagna. Can't wait to make it for my picky Lasagna mom. Enjoy!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
Although I didn't follow the recipe, this turned out awesome. I had a cooked rotisserie chicken that I cut up instead of starting with raw chicken. I used chicken broth instead of water and left out the peas and potatoes. The dumplings were soooo good. I also added maybe 1/4 cup fat free half and half mixed with 1 T. cornstarch to thicken it up a little. This will be the recipe I use from now on. Or at least a guide.

Tuna Noodle Casserole IV

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
This was very good, although I made a lot of changes and additions. I sauteed some onion and celery in a little olive oil, added some peas, doubled the tuna, used smoked salami cheese and omitted the croutons. I also added a bunch of salt and pepper. My husband really liked it. I would make it again, but probably also add a little hot sauce to it. It's a good base recipe and you can pretty much add whatever you like.

Creamy Chicken With Pasta and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I used egg noodles instead of spaghetti, cutting it in half to 8 ounces, while following the rest of the recipe as stated. I also added garlic, salt, pepper, used chicken broth instead of water and used fat free half and half instead of milk. I know I made a lot changes, but I read that is was very bland. My husband really liked it, although it reminded me of a lean cuisine meal. I am not sure if I would make it again. I thought it was good, but not to die for.

Nut Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
My first attempt at making nut rolls and they turned out great. Very easy to make and the recipe makes a lot. I made 6 rolls and I think next time I might make 12 small ones to give as gifts. I usually make tons of different kinds of cookies for the holidays, but I think this might be my tradition now. I used pecans instead of walnuts and they turned out very good too.

Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
I cut the butter and olive oil in half and used lowfat half and half instead of the cream. It still had a good flavor and my husband had seconds, so this will be a keeper. Maybe next time I will use a little flour to thicken it a little more.

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
I just ate one of these melt in your mouth cookies and they are so awesome!!! BUT.....I am still in the middle of baking them and the cookie press is just not working out for me. The dough keeps sticking and won't come out and stay on the cookie sheet. For every 10 cookies I try, I get one that turns out. The only thing I did different than the recipe was to use butter instead of the butter flavored shortening. I can't believe this would make such a huge difference. I want to try these again with the butter flavored shortening. The taste is so good, I hope it turns out, but so far, it's been a huge pain in my butt!!!....I tried these again with the butter flavored shortening and they turned out a lot better than my first time. I guess that's what it was. This makes a lot of cookies.

Banana Oatmeal Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
I doubled the recipe and baked in my Pampered Chef square baker. ( I use nothing but stones to cook and everything turns out awesome ) I read all the reviews about the topping being crumbly, so I put 1/2 the batter in the pan, put the topping and then the rest of the batter to contain it within the cake. Very good.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
Oh my gosh!!! This pie is awesome!!! I used the Pillsbury dough that you roll out, didn't bake it, used 3 bananas, used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup fat free half and half in place of 1/2 cup milk and topped with cool whip. This is so good and SOOOOOOO easy. This is definitely a keeper.
