Salmon Chowder

Very Good!!! Used Fresh Salmon..did not have evaporated milk...used half milk and half and half, fresh garlic...would make again.

Fluffy White Frosting

This frosting was very easy to make and came out great but.....I just didn't like it. I prefer a buttercream frosting on cake and this was more like a marshmallow fluff. I still gave it four stars cause it is a good recipe if you like this kind of frosting.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

I don't like when people review recipes and change the whole recipe..but, I made this adding a couple cloves of garlic and a sweet potato for extra nutrition. It was great and my kids loved it too. So healthy!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I may be the only one NOT giving this 5 stars. I usually make another pie recipe, which I love, but decided to try this one. I followed the recipe exactly and I thought it was definitely missing the cinnamon flavor. It seems like a weird taste to me. It was good, but I tasted a lot of butter and it kind of grossed me out. I think I may try it again, but cut down on the butter and add cinnamon and vanilla.

White Almond Wedding Cake

This may be my favorite cake recipe. Soooo good. I love the almond flavor. It is so good and so easy. I would highly recommend. I am eating a piece right now. I made it for my daughters first birthday and I got many compliments.

Baked Beans from Scratch

I picked this recipe because I had all the ingredients. I received many compliments. Next time I may add bacon and maybe something to make them spicy. Very good baked bean recipe but I sort of like a kick to my food.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

One of my pet peeves is when people review recipes, but make TONS of changes and here I go...This bread was really good, BUT..I used 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup applesauce and one banana ( I had some to use ). I also cut the cinnamon in half. It was very good. I am making it again today, but may cut down on the sugar. Not sure. I like it sweet, but it takes away the point of making it healthy using zucchini.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Ok, so I followed this recipe to a T...except that I substituted light sour cream for regular. That's all I had. I was very excited about this recipe because of the fact it stated that there would be no cracks in the cheesecake. Well, mine did not have any cracks at all....it had the grand canyon on top!!! I was so disappointed. There were 2 inch deep cracks in the entire top. I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I made a sour cream, vanilla and cool whip topping and it looked perfect. It also tasted VERY good. Just a little disappointed about the grand canyon type cracks. I would try this again, but will use regular sour cream. Not sure if that was the problem of the cracks. Update...9/21/09. I tried this yet again and the grand canyon was still on top of my cheesecake. Followed the recipe but substituted an oreo crust. I have not tried this yet, but the crust smells very burnt. I am not at all sold on this recipe and think the issue is leaving in the hot oven for so long after it is done baking. This one just doesn't work for me. I will try another.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe and this comes close, but not quite. I love a soft cookie, but a little crispy on the edges. These are totally soft. And they are a little flat. I did add 2 teaspoons of salt. I do think the pudding mix gives it an excellent flavor. I think next time I will add more flour to make them a little thicker. Definitely a keeper though. I have to take them to my sons school tomorrow so I'll see what kind of reviews I get.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Still searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. These were too hard. Well..I guess I didn't know I had already tried these cookies. I was going to say that they were flat as a pancake, but even my pancakes come out thicker than these. Needless to say...still on the search for a THICK chocolate chip cookie recipe. Anyone see the Throwdown With Bobby Flay for the chocolate chip cookies? Would love to have the recipe for the cookie that won.

Italian Wedding Soup I

This is my first time trying Italian Wedding Soup. I have always wanted to try it although I am more of a chowder person. It was good. I did not have spinach and with a 4 year old and a 1 year old, I thought that would freak them out, so that is the only thing I left out. I also doubled the meatballs thinking the kids would like them, but they mainly ate the broth and noodles....and lots of it. I kept adding more orzo thinking it didn't look like enough, but in the end I needed to add more broth. It was a good soup, but not my favorite kind. Next I will be making a clam chowder!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Very good pumpkin bread. I only had 2/3 cup vegetable oil so I used 1/3 cup applesauce. Also used 1 cup brown sugar and added chocolate chips. Would make again.

Summer Soup of Butternut and Corn

I love this soup! I add 2 sweet potatoes and use sour cream instead of yogurt. I also just use chicken broth. Soooo good. It reminds me of Fall though, not Summer.

Cream Corn Like No Other

I used half and half and 1% milk and omitted the parmesan. That just didn't sound good to me. It was very good. So much better than canned creamed corn. Would definitely make again.

Cheese Fondue

This recipe was OK. You really have to like swiss to like this. I don't think it was a bad recipe....very easy...but I guess the swiss flavor was a little too much for my taste. I would rather have more of a cheddar flavor.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

I am always looking for that "magical" banana bread recipe so I decided to try this one after reading all the good reviews. This definitely was a good banana bread, but to me, they all taste the same. I try tons of recipes, but banana bread is banana bread. I definitely would make this again, but would also try others.
