Hawaiian Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
My son cooked this recipe for an assignment in his cooking class. He is in tenth grade. It is veyr good. I liked it, it was spicey. I added about 3/4 teaspoon corn starch, mixed with a teensy bit of unthicked sauce, to the end mixture, to thicken the dipping sauce. Also, I think the pineapple would have been better a bit warmed, and maybe a little grilled. Just my taste. I really enjoyed it. I hope he cooks it again.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
This is why I have a bread machine. Wow, are they ever the best rolls, and I own Better Homes and Garden Bread Machine Cookbook, and one other, and this recipe is the best one I have. Nothing in either cookbook compares to this recipe. No longer going out and buying a dozen from a steak house, no need. These top any restaurant rolls I've ever had.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2007
This is really good, not the same old thing. I changed it a little. I used a red bell pepper toasted, with a can of chili rellenos, and I also added a drained can of mushrooms. Had I had black olives, they would have been really good. I used about 1/2 cup of flour, because it was too runny of batter for my taste. I used mild picante sauce instead of tomato sauce, to give it a little more flavor. I had already set it up to bake in the 9 x 13 pan, read on and everyone else had tried the 8 x 8 pan. It would've been 5 stars with the 8 x 8 pan. I cooked it exactly as the recipe said, but it needed, I thought, to cook about 10 more minutes. After all , it's not supposed to be a queish.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Oh my gosh, these are good. I ran out of hamburger buns, so I decided to make some hamburger buns. Maybe I was being lazy or something. These are awesome. These are sweet, and certainly double as dinner rolls. I do want to try them cut larger. But, my son didn't even realize they were wheat buns. And they did not last long at our house.

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
This is a good recipe, but I did not cook it for 90 minutes, more like 45 minutes, and then about 10 minutes wihtout the tin foil. My family loves it. If I had Lipton Onion Soup Mix, that'd be a welcome edition.

Meringue Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
These are good. I should've beat them a little longer, and it is taking the "sit in the warm oven for overnight" note, cause they have too much of a moist middle, which is not as dry as they are supposed to be.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
Oh wow, absolutely the best Vegetarian recipe I've cooked so far. I will use this recipe again. I baked them at 400 for about 15 minutes, then 400 on the other side for 15 minutes.I then turned the oven on broil, browned them a bit, then flipped them over, and browned them.I used 2 teaspoons of Bay's in the mix,and squeezed the Zuchinni several times before baking. I used Italian bread crumbs.Broiling them totally makes them appear fried.

The Best Spaghetti Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Not what I expected. I guess I should've cut the liquids by half. I used extra garlic, and spices. But it had a bitter osur cream taste. I don't care for it. I should've just made regular spaghetti. It would've been faster, and tasted better.

Bread Machine Challah II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
This is one of my favorite recipes. It's excellent not only for holidays, but others. I just use 4 1/2 cups of bread machine flour, instead of 4 cups (hence the 4 stars.) I make 2 loaves, and give one to my happy neighbors.

Irish Soda Bread in a Skillet

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
It's very easy. I took the notes of Marg, and added sugar, didn't have buttermilk. I lowered the temp to 375, cooked for 30 minutes, removed, brushed with a beaten egg, and cooked another 5 minutes.I added raisins. I didn't have an iron skillet so I used a glass cake pan, and it turned out very good. I added 2 tablespoons of sugar, also.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Delicious. I did half hamburger, half Italian sausage. I used ricotta cheese instead of milk. and it seemed the 25 minutes didn't quite brown them. I put the oven on broil, and sat them under the broiler. I increased the recipe by 1/4th. It made wow, over 30, and a group of 5, ate all but 7. I also get alot of my recipes from this site. Very good! This is one of my favorite recipes on Allrecipes.com.

Chicken and Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I chose this for the fried chicken recipe. I used waffle mix for waffles, and didn't make it into a sandwich. My family wouldnt' eat it if I used the sandwich. The fried chicken part is flawless, but I felt needed a tad more salt. I never add salt to my food, but thought this needed a bit more. It really worked well. It was my second time to fry chicken, and this recipe works! The secret must be the 20 minute rest time.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I made it, doubled it. For some reason, the taste of ginger over took everything. I added about a teaspoon or a bit more of lemon juice. I used chicken breasts. I injected them with it at 15 minutes, then basted it, then allowed it to cook for 15 more minutes. The chicken tasted not so full of flavor, which is surprising.

Very Popular Bubble Tea

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
I buy my pearls at an oriental market in the bubble tea aisle, and cook them what the instructions say. They are black, large, and puff up in about 10 minutes, as the package says. This recipe is pretty good. I add fruit to it, and put it in the Vita mix, then pour it over the pearls.
